460 DA Owners Thread

First anyone with a 2002 460 Sundancer ever find the fuses for the CO detectors? I was looking behind DC panel but didn’t open up and wire bundles.

Second, I’m looking for a reversing valve and solenoid for a Cruisair SXRU16C-M53. Anyone have part numbers or sources?

thanks in advance for your responses

Yep, the heat works great with all the canvas up and I have a 16k unit. In the summer months, forget about it unless it's night time and cools down. You will burn up in there with the canvas all up :)
Agreed, I have the same set up. 16K unit in cockpit with camper canvas. The unit works great as a heat source for three season living because we spend a lot of time there. It's like a big "lanai". In the hottest summer months the A/C struggles but manages to generally keep up in the Ontario/Michigan climate. On nice days however I just take the side curtains out totally and just have the "roof". We have Makrolon front panels so they remain fixed.
Our camper is black so it tends to trap heat, so to counter that I installed Nicro solar vents in the hardtop. They tend to give us a bit of air movement in the cockpit when we are away from the boat.

My first year with the boat back in '08 I got rattled because that coolant hose collapsed, more so on one side than the other. Got my dealer to replace it right away. He said okay and later told me a lot of them do that. Just watch for signs of cracking or deterioration but a bit of collapse is normal. I carry a spare and it's more of an oval cross-section than round. The Cummins guys who know much more about this will hopefully chip in and explain why the negative pressure happens which in turn causes that hose to partially collapse.

Is this the vent you are talking about?

Do you have a source for those??? I would sure like to get a couple spares…
I reached out to marinediscounters.com to see if they still carried these and will let you know what they say. For some reason there website is currently down. They open at 9 am if you want to call. (419) 625-0605. Sandusky Ohio

I’m on the hook and know my transducer isn’t reading right - all new electronics. What is the keel offset for our 460? -3.0?

I set mine at 4’ better safe than sorry. I think 42” is the actual.

Cummins 480’s throwing checking engine light intermittently. Any way to figure out what’s causing it without using a computer and hooking up to service ports?

Short answer = NO
Proper diagnosis with the correct tool/computer and a good DVOM is 85% of the job. Any one can throw parts at it and cost you a lot of money unnecessarily. Also, codes don't tell you what is wrong, or what part is bad, they only tell you what page of the book to open up to and the pinpoint test to perform.
That and having the ability to read and correctly interpret live data readings are imperative for a complete and comprehensive diagnosis!
