460 DA Owners Thread

Where did you get the hardware for the lounger?

Sorry, not sure regarding hardware as the upholstery shop offered it as a line item. Seems to be just a stainless steel piano hinge cut to various lengths. I think the supports are made of King Starboard that was cut on a CNC machine. FYI - It is damn heavy. The old pads could be removed by one person. It now takes two.

Normal idle is 600, slow idle is 550. With the sync on and either cruise 1 or 2 selected the + - rocker will allow you to adjust the rpm. I used cruise one at 2100 and cruise 2 at 2200. Light boat vs heavy boat.

I was never able to get my cruise to work. Is there a process to setting and activating them?

The procedure is to first select the sync switch to on. Then select either cruise 1 or 2. Advance only one throttle ( I used the stbd.) to the max position. Both engines should spool up to the previously set position. You can then use the +/- rocker to change that rpm to your desired level.

First anyone with a 2002 460 Sundancer ever find the fuses for the CO detectors? I was looking behind DC panel but didn’t open up and wire bundles.

Second, I’m looking for a reversing valve and solenoid for a Cruisair SXRU16C-M53. Anyone have part numbers or sources?

thanks in advance for your responses

That plate pic was just from an image search. It was exactly what I had on my 460 though. Tecnografic could make one for you if interested.

The only thing I did not do was advance to max before I tried adjusting. I only advanced to, lets say 2300. and then tried to reduce using +/- rocker. I assume at max the cruise engages? I will give it a try this weekend. Thanks!

The bow pad on the 460 is pretty generic, It is time to update ours.

Have any of you with the older searay updated so the top part of the pads tilts up like the newer boats to make it a lounger also did you go with a new design?

Post pics!

I have my canvas guy that says he's going to fix mine up to do just that (sit up) and said that "should be easy using some starboard". I'll let you know when he does the job.... he's delayed a few months :(

Anyone here know what part the kitchen sink "aerator" is? If so, mind posting it up please? thank you.

If you are talking about the screen at the end of the faucet, you can buy them at Home Depot for a couple of bucks. Take your old one with you to the store and make sure the threads are the same.

I'm going to be doing the autopilot calibration with my 460 soon (new electronics). What speed do you transition to "planing" ?? I can't remember it's been so long....

Correct, the aerator at the end of the faucet you just unscrew off.... thanks.

Got the boat out this weekend and cruise worked as instructed. The only thing I noticed when on cruise was the RPMs did not stay perfectly synced like they do when off cruises. I set it to 1200 and 2200 RPM. The port engine would be right on. The starboard engine would drop a little.

Anyone know the part number or where I can find the actual a/c vent on the dash? I had some work done on the dash and have to move it and now can’t find the vent.

For those of you who have a/c in the cockpit, have you upgraded your a/c to something with more BTU's or another unit? I believe I have the 16k unit under the helm seat. 24k btu? Thoughts?

Interesting that you ask this today. At the boat this weekend (Sea Ray 48), it was FREEZING. With the canvas up, the heat makes the cockpit really nice in the evening. I was looking for the wet end rebuild kit on my cockpit AC (I have a leak) and learned that I have a 24KBtu unit. I'm here to tell you that the heat is great, the AC just takes the sting off if you're sitting right in front of a vent! I refuse to get a drop canvas to sort of "enclose" the cockpit to help keep the cool in. Don't get me wrong, I run the AC in the summer...but does it really cool the cockpit? I'm gonna go with nah. It's all about expectations.

Nevermind. i figured it out.

Nope. Place I ordered the vent from "doesn't have them in stock until August/September of this year". Any help would be greatly apprecaited on where I can purchase another... thank you.

Yep, the heat works great with all the canvas up and I have a 16k unit. In the summer months, forget about it unless it's night time and cools down. You will burn up in there with the canvas all up :)
