460 DA Owners Thread

Hi

I mounted the TV beside the Head door by screwing a VESA Bracket to the wall, removing the trims that run around the cabin fro m the other side, and putting the power, HDMI and aerial cable in under the trim, and then refitting it.

Small covered piece running from the trim down to the back of the TV.

About 4 hours work.

That looks great!!! What size TV is that?

So I've decided to replace the plywood decking behind the engines and under the main batteries. Here's step one so far. Removed the bow thruster batteries and the hydraulic pump for the swim platform. The plywood was never glassed in and gel coated leading to it's deterioration over 18 years. Somewhere in the boat's history this area was also submerged for a period of time. Getting the board out was tricky since the generator platform sits on it. Jacked up the generator and had just enough room to slide the board out. Gel coat underneath is cracked and flaking up. Removed back to good, sanding and gel coating today.

Who has pulled the TV from the back cabin and turned it into something more useful? Thinking along the lines of removing everything and having an area large enough to store sun pads??
Thoughts?

Did that the first winter I owned it. No need for a tv back there...great towel storage space...roll up sun pads too.

Thanks Carter. Just handling a few health issues but all is well. (no Covid). Finally got back to the boat two weeks ago after almost 4 months (ugh) . Hope you and Susan are doing well!

Ok guys my buddy got his 46 and made it home. We were working on it today and what’s the deal with the cockpit light situation. His lights only seem to have blue bulbs. Theyseem to be sealed units that are very large. What have any of you done to upgrade these or modify them? Looking forward to seeing your upgrades as these blue only are not going to work.

Next the TV situation in the main salon, what is the best way to mount this on the wall of the head? How did you run the wires? What’s and looks the best?
My lights are tricolor. To change colors, turn them on, then off and right back on. They start out white, then blue and then red.

Question, I'm having an issue with my starboard engine not throttling up after I disengage the sync button. Its happened the last 2 times I've taken the boat out. Any thoughts of what the problem may be?

Glendinning has awesome customer service... Here is the manual, go to the trouble section and see if there is anything there for you. https://www.glendinningprods.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Synchronizer_-_Manual.v1.pdf
I turn the synch off and gently slam the starboard throttle to bottom and then tap it up a little to check that the engine is now responding.

Hi 460 CSR Gang!
I hope everyone is having a great summer thus far, I know we have here in Northern Michigan!

I recently removed my Beam central Vac system and was going to list it on Ebay, but thought I would send it here first if anyone is interested. It is fully functional and in good condition...yes it sucks well! (LOL)

Have a GREAT weekend!

I could use the internal motor as the bearings on mine are starting to squeal...

Hi Everyone! After many years of boat ownership, my wife and I recently sold our beloved Formula 41 PC because we wanted to take more extended cruises and the Twin 502's just weren't practical any longer.

So... that being said and why I'm here. We put an offer in that was accepted and now we'll be doing a sea trial /survey next week. Barring no issues, we'll have ourselves an '04 Dancer 460. Before the Formula, I owned a 330 Dancer.

That being said, I'm trying to learn more about this boat. I believe I saw, on the right hand side from the driver and switch panel, "Engine Sync" ... is that what it really is? Synchronizing the engines? If so, can someone explain, in troglodyte terms, what it is and how it works?

What is the typical running rpm for the Cummings 6CTA 8.3M diesels? 2200-2300 rpm?

Any gotcha's that I need to be aware of besides the normal type of stuff? For those of you with the same boat, are you happy with it? Anything I should be looking out for?

Thanks everyone!
Tim

With you throttles at idle, select that switch and then just advance the stbd. throttle. Both engines will advance in sync. You likely have the C cruise option. You can set Cruise 1 and Cruise 2 to to any desired rpm. After that when selected your rpm will be limited to the selected cruise rpm no matter how far you advance the throttle. Great system.

Thank you so much! I noticed (and I'm going from memory here), it has a -/+ rpm on that switch panel too so I'm assuming that's to make the rpm go up/down. If it's exactly as I think it is, that will be an awesome system to have.
