460 DA Owners Thread

Does anyone know where the galvanic isolator is located on a 2001 460. I looked behind the main ac switch panel and can see the about 8 green wires on a ground strip. I have checked the manual and the parts book. It shows in the parts book but I have not been able to put eyes on it. It is the 240 ac setup.

It’s above/behind the salon ac unit. Just remove the end table and you’ll see it in there

Does anyone know the make, model etc of the cockpit sink faucet on a 2003 460da? Mine leaks just a bit and I need replacement parts. Thank you!
I hope I describe this so you can understand it. Because I had to lift the faucet and push it down every time I used the sink, mine would start to leak the more I used it. It was loosening the screw. On the outboard side of the faucet there is a screw that holds the spout on the fixture. The spout rides on an o-ring. If you use a mirror, you can see the slot to tighten it. I actually used a large stainless steel washer. Hasn't leaked since. I hope this helps.

I will give that a try today. Thank you!

Went with my buddy today to watch his survey of the 2003 46 he is buying. Super nice boat and well maintained. Seatrial was solid. I think he will be joining the Sea Ray family real soon
  • Question, can someone post a picture of where the macerator pump is located. This one is mounted to the floor between the engines, is that right?
  • Question, what is under the floor in the aft stateroom? Is there a bilge pump under there?
This boat has an extended mattress custom made (spring type high end not just foam) and custom trim that extended it out (nicely done I must say) as I guess he was very tall. He has the original parts to put it back to stock that my friend will be doing. If anyone one is tall and interested in the mattress and panel extension let me know as he will definately sell it in a couple weeks when the boat makes it home to Ft Lauderdale.

Yes the discharge pump is mounted to the engine room floor under the batteries. It’s technically a discharge pump and not a macerator.

yes there is a bilge pump under the couch in the mid cabin room. All you have to do is slide the couch forward with the switch in the cabinet on the port side next to the washer and lift out the panel you will see under there.

if there is water in there it is typically from1 of 3 places: the shower sump box overflowing or the salon ac condensate overflowing or the hot water tank pressure relief/leak. It should be clean and dry.

Perfect thanks for the tip.

I might be interested in the mattress and bed extension. Please keep me posted. Looking forward to a few pictures. Thanks.

I am interested in the mattress extension. Please message me as to how I can contact you or the right person. Thank you!

Hi, does anyone know how to gain access to the potable water tank under the couch in the aft stateroom? I have a leak that I am trying to find. I fixed a leak in the fitting coming from the back of the tank, but the saga continues as I can see water migrating from under the tank into the bilge. I'm really hoping not to have to cut the floor out of the boat to access. Any help and knowledge is appreciated as always.

The only way I could get to the top of my tank and access the water overflow hose and the fill hose, was to remove the vacuum cleaning canister and lay my body down in there over the sump. It was a tight fit, but I was able to reach the fittings where I found a loose hose clamp that would allow the water to leak out if I overfilled the tank.

Otherwise, Sea Ray did not put an access point in the floor for my model year anyway.

Thank you! will try that as well. hopefully something like that is the culprit as the tank seems to drain down to about 1/2 when left for a while full. Very poor design if there is no way to replace the tank without cutting up the boat...hope not.

When I removed my carpet last year and installed the laminate floor in the mid-berth, I could clearly see the plywood that was glassed in between the stringers. Although it would suck to tear the floor up, it could be done in my opinion.

I think the worst design is where the water heater is placed!!! On the 99 model year, it is installed behind the lower cabinet in the mid-berth...if it needs to be replaced, I will have to literally cut the cabinet back completely out. Although there is an access panel in the center, it will only allow access to the valves, it is not big enough to remove the water heater. Idiotic design flaw!!!!

Anybody know what fridge fits on the 46DA up top. Will the Isotherm 49 work?

I have anchored out with my 460DA about a half a dozen times and each time the boat drifts off from its anchor point. I use a 7:1 scope on the anchor rode which is chain. Each time this has happened I have been in 5 to 10 feet of water and feel this should not be happening, especially when boats in my vicinity do not drift off of their anchor point. I make sure the anchor is set and holding each time. The previous owner said he never anchored. I am beginning to wonder that the anchor may be too small for the boat. I have read that the proper size anchor for a boat this size in a 44 lbs. anchor. I am leaning toward a Lewmar Delta Anchor. Not sure what size anchor is on the boat now but attempt to determine that within the next couple of days. Not sure if the current anchor is original. Any suggestions would be more than welcomed. (P.S. I used to anchor my previous boats all the time and never had this problem. I doubt if it is my technique.)(SeaRay parts manual calls for 44 lb plow anchor)

On the 460 I owned I replaced the original anchor with a 60 pound Ultra. Anchored many nights in the Keys, Tortugas, and west coast of Florida. Never had any drag even in pretty stiff winds and current. The Ultra looked nice as well.

Did you have to upgrade the Windlass or did the original haul the extra weight?

The original worked just fine. I did change to all chain and used a rope snubber to unload the windlass at night. The chain can get a bit noisy when trying to sleep.

I also upgraded to an ultra. It really depends on the type of bottom. The original plow anchor just won’t work in the mud where we are in Galveston Bay.
Mantus now has an anchor without the roll bar and it’s much less expensive.
