Another boat question. Does anyone know if a 96 Sundancer 250 came with a Multi Port injected 454? I know they did come with TBI. I am just wondering if there is height difference between the two. The fuel systems are totally different between the two. Also I am wondering about the shift and throttle cable set up. Throttle cable is on the opposite side and I don't know if the shift cable bracket will clear the intake plenum.

I will figure it out but was hoping someone might have some knowledge of this set up.

Thanks

You can go to the SeaRay archive section on their website and you can download the sales brochure for your model and it will outline the power choices available for the 250 in 96.

Thanks, but no help there. All it says is that it came with a 454 with bravo 1 or 3. I just found a guy that has a 97, same boat. His has a 454 with a TBI set up. going to take some measurements from his.

The spec sheet for the '96 250DA lists the engine as "7.4L". 7.4L is, in a manner of speaking, a different engine than when it is labelled as "454". The 454 "MAG" would be an MPI engine. The 7.4L is either a carb'd engine or a TBI. "Usually", if it's an EFI/TBI it would be noted. My guess is that in '96 the 7.4L was a carb'd option.

My Bluewaters are labeled "MIE 7.4 Litre MPI"

EFI and MPI are confusing too. All MPI's are EFI, but not all EFI's are MPI... (Merc labeled TBI engines EFI)

It is confusing - even for someone that does this on a regular basis. I believe the difference, in your case, is the addition of another variable - the "salt water" Bluewater engine. A 250DA would never have that option, though. And, for some reason, I believe adding the variable of "inboard" can change things, as well. Things are bit simpler when looking at smaller, stern drive boats.
