Dont understand the purpose of the recessed cup indents in the cockpit table so did a little cutting and got a cup holder that works

Nice work!

I think the OEM tables are meant to store easily. They don't hold any type cup very well though.

If your deeper cup holders are glued to the table, will it be easily stowable? Even if you can take the holders out then you have to keep track of them when you put the table out for use.

There were cup indents in the table top before, so I don't think that he loses any more table space. If anything, his simple mod lends more utility to the "Frisbee" table. Should help to eliminate spilled drinks due to those shallow cup indents.

Nice idea,
I have replaced many of my original Sea Ray plastic cup holders around the boat with deeper Stainless Steel units. I think I'll use the old plastic ones as "trim rings"; cut the bottoms off flush with the table bottom and glue in. Then no storage issues. I don't think many of us use small glasses/cups any more. We use Yeti SS insulated style, or Solo cups. I don't think they can fall thru the open bottom. Have to do a quick cup size survey...

I added several cup holders on my 98 290 sundancer. 1 At the sink including 1 in the sink cover. 4 in the table. 2 at the transome that are also pole holders. And my new best thing is called lil suckers. They hold a cup to anything. Thatsba full cup of jack and coke.
