One of our many projects is to have a camper top built for our 2003 420DA. I am interested in all camper top pics so please send me what you have. I hate to deal with the top, but it is a necessary evil once again. I have good panels forward of the arch and above the windshield that are made of strataglass I think. It is thick, clear, and not “wrinkley.” Interested in what you like, dislike, and what you would do different next time.

Thanks,
Bennett

We are also getting new canvas this spring. We currently have a camper canvas that was added on to the factory top. That means our roof is two pieces which we don’t like. The new canvas will be one piece from the arch to the back. The roof in front of the arch is going to be made longer also. This will give more shade on the dash and make the front strata glasses panels shorter.
As far as the camper sides we are going to get exactly what we have now. “NO ISONGLASS” All the panels are two parts. The outside is screen and the inside is canvas that has zippers on the top and sides. You un zip the top and sides and lower the canvas to expose the screen or you take the panel off. I had isonglass on my last boat with a camper and I swore never again. Way too hard to take care of. View attachment 98269

Obviously the picture is of our current canvas. If you zoom in you can see where the camper attaches to the original top. Not good! We have many leaks and it doesn’t look good.

This is my neighbors 380 with a new top (front and back) done by Randy over a We've Got You Covered. He's done about 4-5 of these on the Sea Rays on our dock. This is completely new including all 1" SS tubing/hardware and is about $12k. There is not a rear set of supports to impede the view. The front top was extended out over the windshield so the front panels are more vertical/less likely to leak. If/when I do mine, this is the template. Modifications I would do.

1. Specify zippers. I want BIG BEEFY FAT zippers. Id spec YYZ...made here in ATL.
2. Front panels. I would not have "smiley's" in the front curtains, I would make them completely removable or have "frownies" cut such that the zippers don't leak.
3. I'd like some screen material in the side curtains (or some ventilation)
4. I would like to zip in blackout curtains...extra privacy.

Customer made camper top as they were not available for the 450. I too would not have "smiley's" in the front curtains but only because they are so danged hard to reach over the dash. Plus I remove my Issinglass in the summer months.

What product is the clear vinyl Christopher? My front end is all good. Just doing the rear. Did you connect to the existing bimini or start from the arch with the rear top?

Thanks,
Bennett
