420 SD vs Tiara 4300 Sovran - help me decide.

Congrats...I was going to post about one local to me that just went up for sale...but I see you already have found another one. Beautiful boat!

Yeah, this is a much better value. A year newer, upgraded motors, E series display, all fresh water, same price.

Only downside so far is the pewter hull. Wife loves the look, but I've read all the negatives on the additional care and the issues that arise in matching if a scratch occurs. I'm prepared to accept that.

Don't sweat the pewter hull. I had dealer demo rash that was repaired when I purchased and one cannot tell to this day where. Regarding additional care, you will see more water spotting by the end of the season but I do not find it any harder to care for than my white Cruisers was. Nice boat!

Glad to hear that! I love the look of the pewter. Very eye catching.

Oh Man Scott, please don't buy that boat! My Wife is going to kill me, because I didn't call the broker 2wks ago when it was 19 degrees here in Ky. I said they won't sell that boat anytime soon! I'll call him next week when I can go take alook. ( 65 miles away from me) AAAUUUUGGGGGHHHHH
. My boating location is SW FL but live in Southern KY

Sorry, man. If everything checks out, we're moving that beauty north!

Couple of nice ones on the East Coast I had my eye on too.

Post it Jeff. I've heard from several others that have an interest in this style of boat.

Here is 420DB, on the dock next to mine that just went up for sale. I thought it was a 2006, but it is a 2005. This was a boat used for several boat shows, so I think it is nicely equipped. It has been on our lake, in a covered slip, since it was new. I also know, it is washed about every 2 weeks throughout the boating season. The owners are knowledgeable boaters, and have a similar boat in Florida. As far as I know all maintenance items should be up to date.

Got to climb on the boat for the first time this evening. What a beauty. This boat is almost perfect. Surveys and sea trial tomorrow. I'll post some pics later.

Scott,
Hope all goes well! Was down in Florida this week, looked at a couple 440DB. Nothing that impressed me at all as far as condition. Salt water and sun is hard on any boat if not meticulously maintain.
please post those pictures and let us know how the survey reads! I really enjoy being tormented! :)

Scott,
just some local knowledge about that boat. Rumor has it the boat is invested with bats, spiders and bed bugs! It has also been reported to be haunted by the ghost of an ex wife who slipped on a banana! Just thought I would let you know?:)

Quite an experience. Surveyors were great. The diesel guy was very thorough. 8 hour drive on Sunday, Monday surveys from 8am to 4pm and 8 hour drive home.

Here are some pics.
