I mis-read your post I thought you were looking for the manifold in the aft

The water that collects in the aft floor storage has been a mystery on this site for years. I have had it twice in 4 years. I didn't have it at all last year. If you figure it out please post it ?
OK-it turns out my mechanic (who I consider a GREAT Sea Ray guy) has had the SAME problem with 3 other 40-44 ft Sundancers with this aft salon underfloor storage area getting water. Every time he found that the hull side tank fresh water vent line was leaking. He said if you fill it to the point where water is coming out (how else do you know its full?) of the hull side vent and you have a problem, then the water goes here. He replaced the line or repaired fittings and solved it every time!

Mine did the same thing but it turned out to be a stress crack in the tank. It was cracked just above the 3/4 full level. It drove me crazy. Would leak sometime an not other times. Once I determined it only leaked above 3/4 full I knew I had a problem. I had to cut an access in the top of the tank and plastic weld it. I left the access in the top. The access is nice because I can clean the tank now periodically. I wish my issue was the vent line.

The key is don't fill it until it overflows. It puts allot of strss on the tank.

UGH! Praying that's not the issue then. Thank you very much for the insight. Seems from others, this problem has reared its head a few times. I appreciate the response.

I always fill the tank to overflow a lot ... So I don't think that is my problem but I can see that being the issue if it did fail.

I have been upgrading the TV's in the aft, salon and master... I think I have shown you guys everything but the master. The master had a tube tv... The pic shows the big hole. I just couldn't cover it with a flat screen with all that space behind it being wasted. So I came up with a drawer. The sliders lock in and lock out. I made a replica of the opening so I could work on it at home. That's the partical board you see. The first couple of pics are the aft Tv and the salon. Sony DVD player under the aft and master. I will post a pic after final install

How much to build a second one??? I love that.. Or at least share those dimensions and parts list.. :)

Thanks.. I appreciate that... I will keep updating the original post when I get time. I just posted the link to the sliders. The rest is pretty simple but will post more pics

And, my aft storage floor compartment fills with water also. If you get more detail/info on repairing the vent line or fittings please share. I guess for now I will try only filling tank 3/4 way, or at least guessing 3/4 fill.

Here is the link for the sliders. They are over kill but the only thing I could find short enough that would lock

Very nice but how are you going to lock it from sliding out while underway?

Based on what I know and have today learned, it has to be either the water fill or vent line or a crack in the tank itself OR a leak coming from a line that you could visually see in the water manifold area. My guy said 99% it is a tank line unless the tank was subject to freezing at some point. That could not have happened on my boat.

Been thinking about running HDMI through the boat. Which route do the wires go to get to the master stateroom tv, aft stateroom tv and up on deck to that TV?

Hey @3fouroh -

Here are verbal descriptions - I'll try to back up with some photo's next time I'm on the boat. The "head end" where all the HDMI come together is in the triangle counter in front of the main electrical panel. I mounted my HDMI splitter, sub power panel, and WiFi router all in that location on the side of the panel facing the steps.

COCKPIT TV: My cockpit TV is mounted on the port side above the cockpit sink:
  • I ran 12v, HDMI (x2), CAT5 (x2), and COAX to this location.
  • The small cabinet immediately aft of the cabin door (where the bell is mounted) unscrews w 4 screws.
  • After removing the shelves, I drilled holes on either side of the hidden location behind the shelves:
    • One hole going into the area behind the electrical panel.
    • One hole to the next cabinet aft (behind the cockpit fridge).
  • I also unscrewed the cockpit fridge and pulled it out to get access to the hidden location behind, so that I could feed the wire bundle (encased in split loom) from one side of the fridge compartment to the other.
  • I also removed the panel from the shelf under the cockpit sink and drilled the hole to the other side of the area behind the fridge.
  • The wires were then fed up the arch to where a hole was drilled near the mounting point for the TV.
GUEST STATEROOM TV: This was the easiest since the area behind the TV is almost adjacent to the area under the triangle. This was a very short run of HDMI, 12V and CAT5 cable.

SALON TV: This is the run I illustrated in the post. I used the salon ceiling light fixtures as the intermediary stops to successfully run the wire bundle. I ran both the bundle for the Salon TV (HDMI,12V) as well as the bundle for the master stateroom TV (HDMI,12V, speaker). These wires all terminated above the cabinet over the microwave, where you can get access to run them to the flip down TV.

MASTER STATEROOM (future) - hope to do this over the next couple weekends. Basically I would extend the run that I previously got as far as above the microwave to along the starboard side behind the galley cabinets, behind the shower to the area where the master TV is located. I'll report back how easy / hard this ends up being!!

View attachment 64020 View attachment 64021 Trying to find out where the blue water hose ends up once it gets in this hole. Trying to trace since I need to replace the fitting and hose and can’t figure out how to just replace the fitting. I tried some magic tape but that’s not where it’s worn out. Under cockpit sink. Anyone know?

My blue water hose for the sink drops straight down into the bilge and runs behind the generator to a manifold in the port side far aft bilge. You can see it in the pic below. You can see the two blue lines left of the water lift muffler on the genny. There is a manifold there.

Stupid move by Sea Ray. With the genny running that water gets really hot for about the first 5 seconds.

To take it a step further. You can see the arrow behind the genny where my manifold is for the cockpit sink, rear washdown, and spigot in the transom locker.

If you notice the other arrow is pointing to the hot and cold water lines that run aft to feed the manifold and hot water wash down. I put shutoff valves there so I can drain the water down and cut them off for the winter.

So buy cutting those turning the water (pressure) off and opening up the sink spigot in the galley and the rear water washdown, cockpit sink, transom spigot, and anchor was spigot I can drain those down to at least the low point of the galley sink. Then cut off those to valves along with the anchor was valve on the manifold in the aft cabin I can quickly winterize the outside of the boat and keep the inside usable.

In the third picture, is that the compressor for the horn next to the outlet?

What is the tank above your rudders?

I would love having the room you have between the transmissions and the forward bulkhead. To get in there on the Cummins powered boats you need to be a contortionist with really long arms!

Dead center aft is the fresh water tank.

Do you know where the access to the vent is ?

Regarding water leak in the aft locker, my boat's previous owner had the problem and it turned out to be the fresh water manifold itself. The yard replaced the whole thing. I have the receipt somewhere, but the whacked him pretty good. sounds like you are homing in on the vent hose - really wish there was better access to that fresh water tank, like an inspection port. Looks like we'd have to cut up some of the seat structure just to get to it.
