The compartment aft of the sump box compartment in the floor....does anyone get water in there ever? I've dried the compartment thoroughly only to find water a week later. This is NOT sump box overflow and all other floor compartments are always bone dry. Any thoughts?

Open the hatch in the forward part of the salon; look forward to the starboard stringer as it goes toward the shower. If there is a leak in the mixing valve or a leak in the drain, it will collect between the hull and the stringer, then overflow and collect where you are seeing it. If you want to visually check if the mixing valve is cracked/leaking, there is an inspection panel located in the galley cabinet on the left (forward).

We surveyed a 420 that had leaks in their fresh water manifold. There was water pooling in the that area. Surveyer speculated it may have been from the manifold leak.

Just to clarify...are you referring to the compartment with the sump pump in it, in the pic below

Yes Blueone, exactly that compartment. Thank you for everyones suggestions but I want to tell you it is NOT associated with anything forward of my wet floor compartment. No leaky shower mixing valve, no AC condensation overflow in stateroom or salon AC's, no sump box overflow, no manifold drip or leak....nothing. In fact every other underfloor compartment is bone dry. However, Please have a look at the above pics I took after drying the compartment and putting down paper towels to find the water source. Thoughts???

I second going with the Polycarbonate! It’s actually clearer then the windshield! I think for all new material and snaps cost me about $3000.
I third it? Nothing better than polycarbonate. Mine is like glass. We do a lot of night running and the difference is amazing. The key is finding the right canvas people. New zippers and all is needed for a job that will last. Last thing you want is to need to replace a zipper or anything like it and risk screwing it up.

Fridge drain hose leak? Just a guess but seems like it could cause this.

I have not had water in there... Can you get a snake camera in the hole to look around... Not sure what the stringer configuration is ...Sea Ray might be some help to get you a drawing

2003 420DA... 2 questions... does anyone know the outside diameter of the bow rails as well as the OD of the grab bar on the aft hatch (on the swim platform)? Looking at some clamp on rod holders.

Also - I need to fix the seals on the vacu flush pump unit head (master). Does anyone have the model of the vac part in the engine room handy? I want to make sure its the right one.

I chased a similar problem and found it was the excess water in the sump leaking out of the lid and some of the holes drilled to insert the hoses when the boat is on a plane or during the time it takes to plane. The way I found it was to look in the hold with someone else driving and found the water runs to the back of the sump and even reaches the lid. I actually had to install a new weather strip and installed more screws in the lid.
Any hoses that have silicone around them will leak and I installed a holding tank gasket to run the hoses through.

Winter boating in Florida... love it.

I’ve played with video and photography for years - now I feel like I’m reinventing this... new boat, new video editing program, learning color correction, and getting used to taking more risks with the drone... flown them for years - just never with a moving target...

Trying to order a large folding telescopic teak table for dinner guests. My thought is 48" long by 36" wide (unfolded).

Purchased our '05 last month. It's locked up tight in a facility in Michigan. I don't have a tape measure that reaches from Toronto. Hoping someone in an unfrozen part of the world could help by telling me the distance between the fore and aft facing cushions in the cockpit area. Thx in advance.

Issue:
Generator due for zinc/impeller/oil/filters/belt. When completed, Gen would run for 2-3 mins. then shutdown.

Found water in drip pan and determined fuel system was also sucking air and losing prime. Found air leak at corroded fuel supply line at base of sound shield. Bypassed and determined the lift pump was weak. Wouldn't re-prime system. Also found the stainless mixer elbow inside sound shield had a raw water leak. Took off exhaust elbow and tested the manifold for leaks. The SS exhaust tube had a grooved-in leak from sound shield frame from vibration and crap design. Replaced fuel hose, lift pump, sealing rings, exhaust elbow. Generator ran like a champ.

Still had a raw water leak!
Unbolted the Gen, slid away from hull, found the SS tube that runs from back side of sound shield to raw water pump had a pin hole. It's 15 years old. Replaced this tube and put it all back together.

Moral: Take a good look in back (actually the wall side) of your generator to check the health of what's up against the wall and all the stuff that you usually can't eyeball. I was told if I didn't catch it when I did, the Gen would have been toast soon!

I bought a Nautic Star table that is 19.13" x 19.7" Closed / 38.27" x 19.7" Open. I don't think you can go much further than 23-24"" or so. With four people (two across) mine is ok but it could be a little wider. Hope this helps. Congrats on the purchase!

It does and thank you kindly. I can see from your pics that the table we're contemplating @ 18" closed, folding from the sides vs, like yours folding at the ends, means we can telescope down and use it as a coffee table 48" long with lots of room for knees when seated. Raised and open, it will be a proper sized dining table 36" wide.

Very helpful.

Shift issue on 2005 420 DA:
Port will not shift into fwd. reverse is fine. I know there is a solenoid that controls this. Happened about a week ago and mechanic said take all electrical off line. Let it sit for 10 minutes try it. That worked.
Now that fix does not work.
Ideas welcome since all my techs are off for holiday and would like to run it.
The 2005 models have this and unsure if earlier ones do. Any help would be appreciated and happy holidays.
