Maybe I wasnt clear but we have an 800lb Brower Davit on the bow with a custom stainless steel cradle that holds the tender about a foot about the bow.

I only have seen one 400DB with a crane on the bow. Yours would be the 1st 420/44DB that I know of having this setup. I wonder if SR gave their blessings on the installation. And of course the most important question is, what the biggest seas she has been to and how the deck/cradle are holding up?

Got a new issue: Our salon heater won't heat up. The AC works and cools just fine but we can't get it to switch to heat. The thermostat on the wall appears to be working fine.

Getting ready for the season here in MD on the Bay. Was trying to use my 110 plug in the salon on the back side of the galley cabinet--(the one on the bottom near the floor next to the sofa) It doesn't work!
The plug inside the cabinet works--tried hitting the ground circuit on that one--no difference--
    Any suggestions?

Out of curiosity where is the “reversing valve” located?

If you look at your AC unit and make your way around to the metal lines... you'll find a small cylinder (usually) with a couple of lines coming off it. On/around that cylinder there is a valve typically with a couple of wires to it. That's your reversing valve. It 'reverses' the flow of refrigerant to provide heating in one direction and cooling in the other direction.

Hi, my engineer did it. Mine were OK, but I believe they can be difficult. Essential to get it done though. He told me that he may damage them getting them apart, new ones are $3700 for the pair, luckily mine came out OK. Though it has spent the past 5 years in freshwater which may have helped.

I looked at a 420DB today and noticed something strange. In the V berth cabin (the master cabin) the floor squeaked. A lot. All around the foot of the bed, around the in-floor storage compartment. It sounded just like a floor in a cheap house. You know the one, when they don’t use flooring screws and they don’t glue. Subfloor moves against joists and other subfloor and it squeaks. But a boat isn’t built that way, is it? I felt and it seems like the floor was fiberglass. Perhaps cored, because it was interior, but still glass. How are the floors in these boats affixed? What would cause wide scale squeaking when you walk across or stand on it? Would this be a sign of moisture getting into cored material or sub-flooring?

    Thanks

Does anyone know of an easy way to purchase new captain & mate helm chairs? I would like to upgrade as the chairs in our boat are too high, too narrow and don't have a footrest. Also, they are too close to the helm. My husband finds they are too uncomfortable and I'd like to replace them for him. He really only requires one chair but I'd replace both so they match. I went to the Llebrock website but it is so confusing for me. Is there a place I can call and maybe they'd sent a person out to measure and do all the work??? I'm in San Diego, CA.
