You know that this is the primary system that circulates unlimited water supply. Above the water line or not, one clamp goes and the boat is in trouble. Maybe I'm just too anal, but all my AC lines are double clamped. If my memory serves me right, that's how SR did it from the factory on the original installation.

That's ok, I see it a bit differently. These are barbed fittings so it's unlikely a hose will come off regardless; Sometimes I have to cut the hose to get those fittings off. Plus, at least on the pump side if a hose came off the HVAC or the watermaker the system will shut down the pump anyway. There is no requirement to double clamp anything except for exhaust hoses and fuel fill and vent lines in a boat so It's probably best practice rather than a quality function from a Manuf's standpoint. In my case on those specific fittings they are short so a double clamp can damage the hose which would be worse.

If I were to reconsider my hose clamps, either 1 or two, I would probably opt for one clamp but install good quality T clamps for hose fittings that are critical.

I got the Brondell washlet toilet seat and went to install it...should be simple right? Well the threads on the vacu- flush toilet water feed are not the same as the standard toilet threads. I think domestic toilets use a garden hose thread and that is what the threads on the adaptor look like. The adaptor tee allows the water to through to the toilet flush and tees off to go to the Brondell seat.

I will have to go to the hardware store and figure out what the threads are on the boat. Probably NPT type threads. The hose that goes to the Brondell are 3/8 similar to a kitchen sink hose thread.

AEO, did you get yours installed?

I’m still waiting on mine. Thanks for the heads up on the fittings. I’ll probably have the same issue.

Well guys, finally leaving the sea ray family. We’ve moved on to a Tiara 50 Coupe.

    I miss the 420/44 and 320 forum, I learned a ton.

Brought new boat back from Lake Ontario, Welland canal was an adventure.

I’ll be around the forum because Tiara has nothing like this community.

I think that is the same boat I looked at a month ago! If it is the same one, it was in the 1000 Islands at Hucks Marina. Seriously considered it...

Yes, that is Hucks. Beautiful Marina, and the folks were great to work with. Yes I bought it. Brought it all the way back to lake st Clair.

Ah, too bad I didn't know you were there...would have been great to meet you. Our slip is on Scenic dock out front. If you went to the cafe, my daughter may have served you!

Love your boat; I crawled all through it!! Some nice electronics upgrades, and low hours.

We spent the night on scenic dock. Which boat is yours. Saw a couple of nice sea rays on the dock.

You probably noticed my buddy's 460 Sundancer beside me too...

Cool that you spent the night there. It's a great spot...we stay the entire summer. Always sad to pack up.

I need some help understanding the engine charging system. It appears I am not getting a charge from either engine. Is there an external regulator, isolator and/or ACR that I can check? If so, where are these components? The only charging effect I get is when I run the Gen and battery charger.

Hopefully not too obvious a question... Are your battery switches on? If they are, were they off at any point while the engines were running (in which case the alternators could be done)?

The battery switches are always on. I inherited this problem when I bought the boat. I can see one alternator being bad, but two is making me want to check to see if there is an issue somewhere else. What components are there between the Alternator and the Battery?

When I bought my 44DB, it turned out that both alternators were shot. Sea trial was done with generator running and battery charger on so it was missed. Day 1 we had the genny running. Day 2 we didn't and noticed the batteries were slowly running down. Had to keep the genny/charger going the rest of the trip.
