Can you tell me where to locate that connector? I think there are only 4-5 wires coming out of the monitor box on dash and wires disappear into a bundle below helm area
The monitor display is not where you would look. There is the monitor system control box which in my boat was located next to the main circuit breaker panel in the engine room. This is a picture of it with the connector attached; those violet colored wires are the ignition wires-

Awesome! Thanks for info and picture. I’ll look for it this weekend when I return home from work

I need to redo my dash backlighting. The old tubes are fallen away from the panel and do not appear to light up. I assume when you turn on the navigation lights that the dimmer switch circuit should be powered and provide power to the backlight tubes? I need to check with a meter and see if it is receiving power and go from there.
What is everyone doing for replacement lighting?
Thank you

Ok, installed my H30. I like that there isn’t much on the platform when it’s removed. The pic shows easy access and notice engine room lights, thanks Rusty for the link. You picked nice lights. Generator goes in this weekend.

Now we need to see how well it works getting your dink up on it. I Assume you will post a video? I'm getting my measurements to Hurley this week.

They were very good to work with. I used 4 of the lights you recommended in the engine room. I need sunglasses to check my oil

I am not sure if this is allowed here, so please let me know or delete if it does not belong. We are pulling our hair out trying to find a nice 44DB somewhere in the southeast. We took a deposit on our 380DA, but do not need the funds to buy the 44. If anyone knows of someone selling a 42/44DB, I would be ever-so grateful for the connection. We are on a mission and won't stop until we find a quality model. Then... we need to find a slip for it. We have been Blessed with a covered slip for our 380DA for the past couple+ of years we owned the boat and boy does that spoil you.

We are currently at Home Port Marina in Ozona FL, near Honeymoon Isl, just north of Clearwater. But we are will to travel some if the boat is in great shape and priced accordingly.

Thank you for reading my post and I wish all you northern boaters the excitement that builds within as you start to prep your boat for launching. It was 30 years ago that I had my Grady in Tuckerton, NJ and would count down the days to launch! I am somewhat spoiled now living near Clearwater, FL.

I went a little radical. First, I removed the dimmer module and dimmer switch. I put a blank plug in the Carling opening where the rocker switch was (I had a plug already). The dimmer was useless to me. I need max lighting for my old eyes. Plus I shorted out the dimmer module by accident (oops!). Then I mounted a light in the helm compartment as near to the switch panel as possible, and wired the 12v to it that was previously feeding the dimmer module. Now when I turn on the running lights not only is the switch panel lettering illuminated, but the helm compartment is also lit up should I need to look in there. This is on a 400DB.

Wish you had asked last August when we sold ours. I just looked and you are correct. The pickins' is slim right now....

Best of luck!

Thanks Bennett.... we are positive thinkers and believe good things come to those who have patience and those who treat others well. ;)

Curious if you don't mind sharing the reason you moved away from the bridge boat? You can reply via PM if you like.

Do not mind sharing. Really, 3 reasons-1) Being on an inland lake, we spend a lot of time either at the dock or tied up with another boat or two. We found we were only using the bridge when we were moving. 2) I just turned 65 and steps are not in my future. We bought a ranch style house a couple of years ago so just time to move on from the steps. 3) I had detailed the boat, fixed everything that did not work, updated everything, and ran out of “projects” for the most part. We found a 2003 420DA that had been neglected to a point, but had some good bones. Diesels were in great shape though need cleaning and painting. The interior was also in great shape. I took this one on as my last challenge....the 44DB will always be the “apple of my eye.”

Vince....I have a 2004 420DB local to me, getting ready to be listed. It’s always been freshwater ( on Table Rock Lake in Missouri) and in a covered slip. I can give you more details and get you in touch with the broker who will be listing it, if you are interested. A couple of details....about 250 hours on engines and new canvas (changed to black) in the past 2 or 3 years.

Any pictures? Link to broker site?

thanks
No link yet.. we are just dewinterizing in the Midwest. I believe the owner is dewinterizing soon and getting it cleaned up after the winter before the broker takes pics and advertises the listing.

I think you missed a spot.
Looks good.
Wish I could say I did it...not the case though! Shopped it out.

My marina doesn't typically allow owners access to do this type of work, citing liability concerns. It's also a COVID issue these days. Regardless, I would leave this job to pros!

The 44DB is ours of of last evening. Will bring her home Saturday, aprrox 135 mile trip down the Ohio River. 2 locks to go thru and calling for rain.
Will post pictures of the boat and trip this weekend.
Does anyone know where to buy the stainless covers for the anchor foot controls on the bow?
thanks
