415AFT Throttle cable

We recently bought a 1988 415 AFT with 3208 cat power. The sole purpose for the purchase is to do the loop. We plan to depart Jacksville, Fl sometime mid-March and have absolutely no schedule along the way. My question is as I have been doing some upgrades and repairs, I noticed that one of the throttle cables is disintegrating. I have found NO WAY to route the cable - has anyone any suggestions or have done this repair before and how did you run the cable. Thanks for any help - Doug H.

Pull the new one in when pulling the old one out?
