Sea trial for me on April 3rd.

W-O-W....Freakin'- W-O-W.....

I can't hardly see the keyboard because my cheeks are bulging from the smile........this may require Medical intervention to wipe away......

First, I have to say thanks to you all for enjoying the ride with me....CSR really is a great boating family.... :smt038

I was at the boat yard at 0745 only about 1 1/2 hrs early.....the boatyard crew were pulling in right behind me. I have got to say that the MarineMax Brant Beach has absolutely got to be one of the best in the business. I would recommend them to anyone looking for serviece in the area. A real professional group of folks. As you all know, I had $$$$ held back in my deal and a 4 page typed Word Document List that had to be fully completed before a penny was released. Well, I was probably the most surprised as I happily wrote the check for the final payment earlier this afternoon. They did an outstanding job!

The MM captain, Harry, was with me from 0830 until I pulled off the dock and blew those awesome airhorns at approximately 1400 hours. We went over ALL systems and confirmed that EVERYTHING was up to snuff. We had a few nit-picky things that needed attention, and the crew at MM BB were on it within minutes and took care of everything to my satisfaction. We had one fairly tense moment, and I put in a quick call to Houston Control (AKA Frank W). The onboard Halon bottle was replaced as one of the items on my list. On the Diesel equipped boats, there are two settings for the dash mounted switch: Normal and Override. Everytime we put the switch in Normal, the engines would shut down. Once again, the MM BB crew were right on it and a simple Wire repair and everything was back in order.

I headed out with Capt Harry for a final sea trial and we put her through all the obligatory maneuvrs and she performed flawlessly. This was when the "Smile" really started to set in.

Back at the dock, I headed in to the office and settled up with the Srvc Mgr, Jim, shook everyones hand and jumped aboard.

As I pulled out of the marina, I gave one more Long on the Air Horns and headed north for a Be-Ute-EE-Full cruise to the home port. I almost missed a few ICW markers because my Smiling Cheeks were getting in the way. The temp was low 60's and the wind was slight and out of the West. I had the entire Barnegat Bay to myself.

I tied her up and gave her a quick wash down, and then ordered some Pizza and sat outside smiling and just looking at her....the only thing left is to put her new name on the transom....scheduled for next weekend.

Here's a picture of her at her new home......

Best wishes,

Warren
Ex-sailor, power cruiser soon!!!

congrats Bud!

just got back in from taking 2 days off of work, most of them on the boat. tired as heck. decided not to stay aboard tonight, because my wife is home with a stmoach virus, and me and the kids starting feeling guilty about it. i did about some of the dumbest boating things i've ever done, but that'll go in another thread.

anyways, congrats!

Dominic.............let's get out there and have some more fun this weekend. Glad to hear everything went well yesterday.

Thanks guys.....I'll be out in the back most of the day.....First on the agenda is to move the whips out a few feet and then reset the dock lines. After that, the admiral and I.... (mostly me)..... will unload the garage, the back shed and the side shed so we can put all our "Stuff" back onboard....(mostly hers...you know, the extra hair curlers, 5 napkin holders, two sets of silverware, two irons, in case one breaks, etc, etc....and now that we have two heads....who knows what she'll be out buying to fill those spaces with.. :smt017 )...... that should drop the waterline by about an inch or two...

Hopefully, there'll be enough daylight left to take a nice ride down the the Toms River and burn some of the Red Dino Juice....

How many times have you looked out the back window this morning and just made sure that the boat was still there :smt043 :smt043 ??!!?? Have great trip up river....

Dominic,
the great thing about diesel power is that no matter how much "stuff" you load her up with you will still get on plane and run well. Torque. Mmmmm Mmmmm Good.

Please......Never repeat that in front of the Admiral!!!!!! :smt009

I never did get to take that ride down the Toms River.....

I spent a good part of the morning moving the whips and reseting the lines....She's sitting real nice now...

Then I spent the better part of the afternoon moving all of the Amiral's stuff onboard while she found new homes for everything.....I was able to stow my waxes, life jackets, some tools, lines and cords. The rest of my stuff is in the cockpit, and hopefully I'll get that stowed this morning or early afternoon.....but then......it's supposed to rain all day....... :smt089

Dominic, How are the " Roaring chambers of Power" sounding?
I'll bet its pretty sweat. My wife said it sounds like a "Jet" taking off   JC
