410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

TaylorMade Fastback for 410 Sundancer:
Posting this in this thread because it’s unique to 410’s.
It’s a camper type back for a 410.
You can google it to see what it looks like.
My boat came with this in the TaylorMade storage bag. It’s dark Navy blue. I took it out of the bag to check it out when I first got the boat and it appears to be in good condition with everything there as far as canvas and rods. I can’t be sure about the hardware because I never tried to put it up to see what else might be needed, but I’m sure that if it does need anything it can probably be sourced.
The main stuff is all there for sure.
I put it back in the bag, stored it in my garage attic, and haven’t touched it since last year.
I don’t see myself ever using it and would be willing to sell it for a reasonable price.
The only catch is the thing is bulky and heavy so it’s not practical to ship it. I’m not even sure how I would begin to package it.
Besides, I would want anyone who might be interested in it to come and check it out first.
If you’re within driving distance of Long Island NY, know what this is, and you might want it, let me know.

I have a new to me 2003 410 Express that I am getting ready for the 2018 boating season. I am replacing the horn cover with the stainless steel version. I am looking for help on how to access the horns themselves from inside the boat. Thank in advance.

Bleeding Fuel System on Westerbeke Diesel Generator:
I plan to change the Racor and the engine mounted filter element on my Westerbeke Generator as part of my Spring routine.
I’m assuming that I’ll need to bleed it before trying to start it.
Am I right about that.
I’ve been looking through the manual and can’t find the procedure for bleeding the generator fuel line after I change these two elements. In fact, it doesn’t even mention bleeding.
Can anyone guide me or point me in the right direction?

You don't need to do anything but do the start cycle a couple of times. The little lift pump (the one that ticks) will purge the fuel system. Also if your fuel tanks are full make sure you turn off the supply valve as the racor filter is rather low on the tank.

Thanks! Sounds like it is easier than I thought.
Now if only the generator wasn’t so hard to get to.
Don’t even need to fill the canister the engine mounted element goes in?

You could but that makes a mess. The lift pump will take care of it.

Even better. Thanks!
Still learning my way around the diesel world and was overthinking the priming.

Hi Steve,

I believe it is behind the TV in the Master Stateroom on the stbd side of the hull. The Late Dominic (OSD9 on this forum) did an article on rebuilding them when he owned my 410.

I just purchased 4 seablaze X underwater lights for my boat. I would like some input on the spacing across my transom. Im not sure if I need to or should stay inboard of the trim tabs. Has anyone installed four lights on their boat? A picture would also help. I am leaning toward inboard of the trim Pistons.

Hi Riptide, I was also looking at those SeablazeX lights, did you find these anywhere for less than the $400 ea? I wanted to do it but got sticker shock!

Talked to manager at west marine. 1391.88 out the door for four. They will now beat internet all internet prices.

Look great, I’m itching to pull that trigger

Thanks, it's not that hard to do. The hardest part is that first hole through the hull.. With these I only had to put 1 small (can't remember what size) hole through for each light. The screws that attach the light don't go all the way through.
