Thanks Jeff! I’ve got it to almost where I want it. Next big thing will be redoing the vinyl stripes on the topside and the thin 1/2” one that separates the blue and white on the hull.
Not sure if I’m going to go with the same exact colors though. I may want to make a subtle change.
BTW: If your boat is blocked locally for the winter, accessible, and has South Bay Strainers, I may ask you for permission to go take a quick look at the bottom to check out your strainers. I need to get them this winter, and I’m not sure of the size. I’m especially interested in the ones for the starboard motor and genny because those thru hulls are so close together.

JVM, beautiful!! I feel your pain and am in the same boat so to speak on getting the boat up to par with her predecessor. My Silverton was 18 years old when we traded her and she shined like she just came off of the showroom floor. The 410 already looks 100% better after one season of polish/wax, but know it'll be a couple more before she has the shine the Silverton did. It is back breaking work, but so worth it in the end. I love how the blue turned out on your boat. Really pops now!

Thanks! Back breaking for sure, but worth it in the end. Once it gets to where it needs to be the annual maintenance routine gets easier.
I really love the blue too. It’s my favorite color. But as much as I would have loved a blue hull I’m really glad I didn’t get one. Hauling a boat once a year is not enough to keep a dark colored hull maintained the way I would like to. The blue stripe is going to be enough work. Hoping that multiple layers of the Collinite Insulator Wax applied again before launch in the Spring are enough to keep the sun from killing it.
Unless of course you are fortunate enough to have a covered slip or storage........

Does anyone from this thread have the Bennett Auto Trim Tabs? My boat came with the controls but the control pad has never been "lit up". I am assuming that there is a power issue somewhere but have no idea where to look. I am going to install a Garmin 840xs soon and while I have the helm apart and access to wiring I figured I would get this auto tab system operational too. From what I understand, the keypad controls plug into a "box" that has power and ground that determines the running angle of the boat. If anyone can let me know where to look for this or where to start I would appreciate it. I can't see anything from the helm access panel. I am leaning towards the starboard side of the helm where the subwoofer is located. I remember a bunch of stuff being in there including a raymarine interface, which is odd because the boat came with Furuno and B&G electronics. Thanks!

mtnandy, here is what I have. It is a Bennett AC2000 ATC. My question is where does the plug on the end of the grey cable plug into something. There are led lights for power so this thing is supposed to light up. I have the sensor in the guest head cabinet. But I have no idea where to look for the power and ground to see if this is even connected. Photo I pulled off google.

totally different than mine. All I have are 2 toggle switches. I can even tell the tab positions with mine. You definitely have a better system than mine

Does anyone have a labeled diagram of the engine room for a 92 400 express cruiser? I just bought the boat and am trying to learn where everything is (from oil cooler to sea strainers)but am having trouble finding clear info. This is my first boat. Thanks.

I hate to think of the old boat going to waste. Keep us in the loop if you decide to make the move.

Go to searay.com and under owners resources you can find your owners manual. It will have a layout of all systems including the engine room.

Ok guys, sorry if this has been covered but I can't find it using search. Does anyone know what the prop size is on a 1998 400 with 3116 diesels? A member is selling a set of 21x19, 1.5" shaft 3 blade Nibral props and if they are right they would make a great set of spares...

Go to searay.com then owner resources, then model archives. You should be able to find it there. I know on mine I have 22x23's but I have the 7.4's.

I would almost bet they are 4 blades too. Again mine are 7.4's as well.
