Boat looks great! How do the fender baskets work out for you? I've got a set sitting in my garage attic for years that I've considered adding to my 410 but I was thinking they may be in the way up there and might impair visibility a bit.

Thanks. They work great. I don't notice them from a visibility standpoint.

Anyone still using the original Glomex with 3 TV's?
My boat came with a KVH M3 that the previous owner had installed and hooked up to the salon TV only, The salon TV was upgraded to a newer flat panel. The boat has the original TV/VCR's in the forward and aft cabins and it looks like he was just using them to watch old VHS tapes.
I'm going to replace those two old analog TV's with new flat panels.
I was originally going to subscribe to Direct TV and add two more receivers for a total of 3. One for each TV. After looking in to it, it looks like it's going to be more time, trouble, and money than it's worth to me for what will amount to standard definition anyway.
Now I'm deciding to just go with OTA broadcasts on the boat.
The original Glomex Antenna itself is missing, looks like it was taken off when the Satellite antenna went on, but the Glomex amplifier is still mounted inside the cabinet over the galley sink.
I'm thinking that the easiest way to go is to just get a Glomex V9112, some new coax, and one of their 4 way splitters (I only need 3 of the outputs).
Not sure if Sea Ray Ray ran coax to all 3 TV's or just the one in the salon. Won't know that until I get the chance to pull out the old TV's. Can anyone advise about that?
Does anyone know if the Glomex with the splitter installed after the amplifier will give me reception on all 3 TV's?
The set up would be: New Glomex Antenna --->Existing Glomex Amplifier--->Splitter--->all 3 TV's on the boat.

You could run the direct tv cable to the box and then a switch. So you can choose what room it shows in. Not a perfect solution but might work.

The answer is yes. We run three tv's. Flat screen digital via the glowmax. Each tv can run independently with Crystal clear pictures. One over refer, one in guest room under helm and one in master v berth. I added a bluetooth transmitter via the headset jack on the refer tv. My stereo is bluetooth. Now the tv sound comes thru the boat speakers. Simple yet awesome upgrade. $35. Cheap.

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

JVM225, Sea Ray has installed a splitter for all three of your tv's already. You should be able to just add the antenna to your arch and connect to the existing coax in your arch and use the OTA tuners in your tv's (assumming they are upgraded) to access HD OTA programming free. I have seen some installs where the Sat Dome added was connected to the "Ship" input on your Glomex switch so you might need to check how they set that up. On mine, there is a two output splitter (Salon and Master) as there were only two tv's and the switch next to the glomex gain control changed the input between the antenna on the arch and the coax input in the transom.

Thanks guys! Good to know that the Glomex can work with a multi outpu splitter. I'll have to dig in a little deeper to see if I can find the splitter that Sea Ray put in. The flat panel over the fridge is on a swing out bracket and I looked behind there but didn't see it. Next step will be to pull the Glomex amp out and see what's hooked in to it then trace whatever is there.
Matt, I like the idea of installing a 3 way switch of some kind after the direct tv signal but that would only give me one tv at a time which wouldn't work out if the kids were with us. That's why I was looking in to adding two more direct tv receivers, but after speaking to KVH I got a little discouraged and started thinking it may not be worth the hassle.
Now I'm leaning more towards the Glomex and seeing if I get a decent amount of channels.

My splitter is on the upper wall behind the refer. The 410 access point is through the locker on left before the galley steps. On the right side is a panel, unscrew and you'll find another panel. Take that out. The back of the refer will be exposed. Now above the access hole on the access wall is the splitter. Not easy to see or reach but do able. You'll also find the 110 outlet for the refer and tv.

What RPM do you guys with the 3126 Cats normally cruise at?

I usually cruise at 2250-2350 RPM in anything from calm to at least 2-3 footers.

Thanks! I'll take a look in there.

I have to pull my refer out to really access it. Very simple to do and nice to clean the fans and "stuff" on the back of the refer.

Depends on the urgency and current. I normally cruise at about 2350 to 2400 (20 knots for me) but have dropped down to 2200 with a good push doing the same speed. Play with your tabs a bit when getting dialed in. The bow may be higher than you want but she wants to run up there, you will see with some trim adjustments. Start full tabs then, after running comfortably, lift the bow a bit and watch your speed. You will find the right trim easily.

Thanks Tom & Ken!
She does like to ride a little bow high, even with the fresh water tank full. That will take a little getting used to. Instinctively, it makes me feel like I'm wasting fuel.
So far I've only done a couple of short runs, all of which have been in rotten conditions, and I absolutely love the way she handles and rides.
I've got a 6-7 hour trip home with her tomorrow. The forecast through the Long Island Sound, East River, and NY Harbor is for only 1 footers with a strong current to power through Hell Gate and the East River, then 2 to 4 footers for the Ocean leg of the trip. That should give me a feel for how she likes to run in the conditions I most often boat in.
After very rarely using tabs on my old boat, I've got to get used to putting them down before trying to get up on plane. I've also got to get in the habit of retracting them before I get around the docks. I'm seriously considering an auto tabs solution with either the Mente or Bennett products.
I was a little spoiled with having the fuel flow sensors networked in to the Garmin system on my old boat. They gave me instant real time fuel burn numbers and really helped a lot with maximizing economy. Raymarine doesn't have a similar proprietary option that I can see, so looking for a reasonable alternative is now on my "to do" list.
Once I wrapped my head around the size difference, I was surprised at how much better she behaves around the docks than my old twin I/O 300 Sundancer, even during the time that I forgot to retract the tabs.

I usually don't tab down until I'm up on plane, however I added the Mente auto tab system this winter and am anxious to see how well it works. Even with the tabs all the way down I couldn't see comfortably enough over the bow rise to see the fish net markers/bouys out on Lake Michigan without adding a cushion to sit on (I'm 6' tall), so I bought a new Garelick helm seat pedestal that lets me sit higher and that fixed the issue. Now when the helm seat is all the way down it's at the same level as bench seat to port.

Regarding fuel flow sensors, I saw these somewhere this winter and saved the site. http://www.interactio.co/optio-fuel I don't know anyone running them yet though.

Looking forward to hearing about your trip! We splash next week, after out new cockpit upholstery gets installed.

Yeah, retracting tabs is second nature for me now. I do it as part of my routine when coming into a marina, any dock or raftup. Besides handling better, it keeps the shafts protected.

Does anyone have a 12v plug anywhere other than the one under the dash in the cockpit? I can't find any other. Zero in the cabin??

I installed a bluesea accessory USB in the helm panel. Another 12 cig installed next to the radio. They are really nice.
