410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

So I received my new Lewmar anchor last week. The 200' of chain, swivel and shackles delivered today. I look forward to getting this hooked up this week.

As luck would have it, we were able to retrieve my old anchor on Sunday as well! I was on a friends boat cruising in the same location that I lost the anchor a week prior. Calm day, clear water and from the bridge we had perfect visibility. The chain spread out straight from the anchor made it very easy to identify. I'm shocked it hadn't been covered by sand. A buddy of mine swam down, tied a line and together we pulled it up.

So now I have a spare 35lb plow with chain. :)

Damn that sure is PURTY!!!

Sorry for all the stupid questions on my part lately, had one helluva weekend! Anyway I thought I found the right part but it just showed up from amazon and is not the same. Does anyone know the part number for a replacement toilet seat? The one I am looking for is bone in color and light weight plastic. I think it is oem. In another forum they listed a round bemis replacement but it is heavy wood and I'm afraid it will slam down and break the bowl while underway...

Not sure if it is the same as mine, but I just had to replace one..

FWIW, this is the best price i found also

The pump models are stamped into the stainless cover plate, and the newer model is completely round. The older model had a "flat" on one side. Newer model has an o-ring for seal, older has a paper gasket.

The pin has a slot on one end and threaded on the other. The new shaft slot and pin is slightly bigger, so it wont fit into the older pump. It is easy enough to swap them out. I've been watching a Johnson impeller on Ebay for $9.99/pc and I have been told they are the OEM for Westerbeke. Might try one. I have to replace mine tomorrow, but have an Westerbeke branded one I bought as a spare last year.

Interesting.
My generator was replaced with a brand new one in April of 2016. It has the round cover plate and uses an O ring instead of a gasket.
I’ve been using genuine Westerbeke parts up until now, but might look in to using a Johnson impeller kit if they are the original supplier.
Have to see if I can find a part number for it.

I updated my earlier post...posted a pic of the Westerbeke Impeller Kit #48500 that fits the "new" pump model 48080. Its definitely a Johnson 810 impeller. However, the ones I see on ebay are labled 810b and have a threaded pin, leading me to think they fit the older pump only.

Hey there BGIII, thanks for the post. I just changed my 7.6BTD genset impeller and ordered some spares. When I got the spares, it seems the impeller pin in the old style is thicker than the new style.

I ordered the new 048500 impeller kit and it came with an impeller that the pin is too wide for the notch in the shaft. Does the 09-810B-1 impeller come with the wide shaft or thin one? Hope that makes sense! Can anyone else chime in?

I've ordered from both Stay Cool Pumps and the guy on Ebay and never seem to know what I'm gonna get. The one guy on Ebay suggested I just swap the pins from the old one to the new impeller, but I'd rather not. I'd also rather not pay $40 if I don't have to. The Johnson pump impeller 09-810B-1 is only $19 from Boatersland, but it also shows the old style gasket as well as an o-ring, so I'm confused.

The impeller in the Johnson 09-810B-1 kit matched exactly what I removed, I did not have to change the center pin or anything. The kit came with an o-ring, round paper gasket and the old style paper gasket like we have, so it must fit several different pumps. I have another impeller that was in the spare parts kit that came with the boat and that one did have 2 different threaded pins so you could put change the size as needed.

Did you upsize the anchor to a 45# or stick w/ 35#? I put my 200' of chain in a couple weeks ago, but kept the ugly old anchor for now.

I have never dragged an anchor with the trusty ole 35 pounder. These plows are absolutely amazing for the areas I anchor. So no, I stuck with the OEM size. With how close the 35 comes to the hull when fully "parked" in the davit I'd be concerned that a larger anchor may hit the glass.

I'm looking for a "Portside" Aft vent fairing cover, mine went missing somehow.
This is the streamlined fairing cover for the engine comp't natural vent, it is made
of plastic and secured with (4) small screws. Have tried many of the online sites incl'
Salvage yards but no luck so far, have attch'd photos of Stb'd cover as example and
photo of the portside area where cover is missing. Am thinking that I may have to
resort to finding a good fibre glass guy to see if he could mould a new cover for me
as seems to be a hard item to find in the used parts field. Any ideas on where I can
get a new or used replacement greatly appc'td, would take a pair if I have to.

Thanks; John A

Just as an FYI you posted this in the 400 specific thread. There is also a 370 specific thread. You may have more luck there...though on boats of our age the chance are slim, no none, finding factory body/glass parts.

Hi and thanks anyway for responding, my first time on here.
How do I get to 370 threads as cldn't seem to find that.
Agree ref old boats - hard to find spares especially body parts
and think I'm chasing my tail looking for this item. I'm located
at 50 Point Marina in Beamsville Ontario, not too much in way
of bigger boatyards around this area so trying to expand search
in U.S. as may be a few hurricane damaged/salvaged boats etc.
Cheers; John.

I might be able to help you with this. Give this number a call as they just took a complete loss of a 1998 370 Sundancer
and might be parting it out.

The deed is done.

Here's what 200' of chain looks like in your 400 anchor locker. A lot more compact than I would have expected. Takes up quite a bit less space than the line it replaced.

And here's what the Lewmar Delta anchor looks like. She sits a little higher in the saddle (the shank) than OEM but launches and retrieves perfectly...at least sitting at the dock, so far :)

How much did the chain run you? I have a friend selling his boat and I'm thinking of trading my rope/chain combo for his 300' of chain. I'd like to take care of him and need to know how much it's worth. Thank you!
