410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Well I did the deed yesterday on the sink and faucet. I had a pretty good chuckle whilst removing the sink. Not a single tool required. I cupped the side of the sink and wrapped my hand around the edge of the stainless rail...one squeeze and the sink popped half out. The back half came out with one shimmy back and forth. Could not have been easier.

I used a plastic razor blade to clean up some of the caulk, of which there was very little. There's still a slight ring around the backside of the sink that I'll deal with in the future.

I'm not sold on my choice of faucet. The location is tough on this boat with the overhanging side panel above the sink. I bought a nice pull-out faucet but it wouldn't fit, not enough height. Pictured is my backup faucet. Still a big improvement from OEM but I may replace it down the road.

Which sink did you order? Looks great.

It's a very reasonably priced rig. Not fancy by any means...

I've used this sink twice. The nice feature about this one (and some others I suspect) is that it'll connect straight up to the OEM connectors. No plumbing required other than some teflon tape...

Thanks. I just ordered one too. The faucet on my sink (which I already replaced previously) was starting to pit and just does not look good.

Ok guys, searched and can't find an easy answer hoping someone here has a link. Looking for two items. First, I want to replace the Cat emblems on my 3116's. Anyone done so and what the hell does Cat call them, the parts.cat.com website is a total piece of shit. Second I have "400" decals on my transom. They are faded and I'd like to replace them and don't see anything online. Do I really need to get a local shop to make three custom numbers? Or can someone suggest a better option? Great Lakes had similar stuff online but not the same and super expensive. Whats the best way to get them off? Photo as example.

For removal: a little heat and a plastic razor or scraper works well. Follow it up with some adhesive remover to get the residue off.
If replacements are hard to find online then the sign shop may be your best option and probably not all that expensive in the scheme of things.

Dan - I went in to my CAT dealer after I had my aftercooler covers powder coated, he looked them right up, ordered them and they were there the next day. They were $20 (plus $20 shipping!). These were the ones that say"CAT Marine Power".

I had raised 410 numbers on my transom. Erwin ordered them for me - pricey - $128 - first things I bought. The late Dominic had taken them off so his boat would look like his former 380 and when he visited marinas, he could save 3' on the overnight!!

I seem to remember your boat had the 400 as decals...take a photo to a sign shop as someone suggested or drop by MarineMax. Are there still two on Lanier?

When I bought our 58, they had removed the name, but left the Hailing Port. Hair dryer and a razor scraper made short work of it...

Awesome, guys, thanks! I'll call Yancey Cat today. Just wish Cat.Parts.Com was easier to find stuff on. Anyone know of an exploded view online to make part number lookup easier? Also, I have decals so they should be easy enough to get. If the raised ones are $128, I might just stick with decals. I don't even notice them until someone pointed out how dirty my boat was my decals were faded this weekend. I have great friends! Never afraid to shame me into spending money...

Wasn't me!!! :)

But I have to say that the more time I spend on parts.cat.com, the better I like it. It does take some time to understand how to dig for what you want/need. I have found that going to the above website, and then going to the "parts manuals" is much more helpful. Type in a part type and one of your serial #'s and you get great exploded assembly views, along with pricing and availability (put your zip code in). Its a 3 hour round trip for me in ATL traffic, but I have found shipping to be fast and affordable. Accuracy of orders from Yancy is another story, so inventory what you receive. However, in the end they are very responsive!!

I was so lucky when I owned my CAT powered boat. Stowers CAT was across the street from the marina - every time I ordered parts, I brought a sack of sausage biscuits with me...after a few visits, they knew my name and before I could tell them what I needed, they had my account pulled up with my specific engine serial number data. They even rebuilt my 58’s power steering ram for me as a favor (I provided the kit).

Anybody replace the water accumulator? Mine is a Jabasco 1 liter, and is leaking air out the top, so needs replacement.

Swapping out with the same model is quick and easy, but is there a better option? Maybe a larger one? Better quality?

Anybody do this on a 410 or 380? if you changed to a different model or larger one...where did you put it

After my second Jabsco failed, I capped it off and removed it with the intention of finding a better one.

That was about 12 years ago. I can't tell the difference. It has continued to perform as if there's an accumulator in the system. I've also seen boats that didn't have one, and clearly needed one. I'm not sure why...

Mine pulsates when using any of the sinks. I’m hoping a new accumulator solves that.

the Jabasco is pretty basic, but others have a schrader valve...that looks more complicated...
