I'm in Los Angeles. I changed the zincs (anodes) on engine every 9 months. I replaced all hoses 8 years ago when I bought the boat. I replaced impellers last, about three years ago, and both joints where shaft V's two months ago. I am ashamed to admit I only put on about 10-15 hours a year, though I am on the boat 2 or 3 times a week just chilling and hiding out. I tried searching for this info on the board but couldn't find it, even though I know it's here somewhere. I'm going for an oil and oil filter change soon. Is there anything else I should replace? Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

If you use Caterpillar belts and keep them properly adjusted, they last about 5 years.

Service the transmissions every 250 hours or annually.

Based on the hours you run, you should be changing the impellers about every 18 months. The blades dry out and get brittle from lack of use. Wait too long and you will have to disassemble the heat exchangers to retrieve the impeller blames that break off.

My boat was a SoCal boat when I picked her up almost 8 years ago and the hoses fell apart in my hands when I went to remove them. Do a test and try to remove the engine water hose from the strainer. If it tears at all, replace them all. Don’t forget the genny, especially the hoses from the heat exchanger up to a manifold then to the genny. I just had to replace those while on the hook and it was no fun!

Thanks everyone. The impellers were okay but I changed them anyway, the hoses and belts were still okay. I changed the engine and transmission oil, and of course all the filters.
