Can someone please advise what thread the chrome plated brass nuts are that secure the wiper arms on to the shafts, and is it possible to adjust the park postion of the wipers, currently they are both stopping in different places, neither of them being down where they should (I would like them to)be.

Thanks

Graham

Try www.directbus.com They have all the replacement parts for your Dana wipers (I think you have the same as my 410) and can tell you the size of the nut as well as how to adjust the wipers on the boat. Adjustment requires repositioning a star shaped spacer inserted into the wiper arm and is difficult to remove if it has been on for a while. Good luck.

I adjusted ours pretty easily. I removed the nut and the arm and simply repositioned it. Tightened the nut down and was done. The arms lock into the splines on the wiper motor shaft and you should be able to do the same. Just make sure you remove the arms BEFORE you reposition them. Do that to avoid wearing the teeth of the shaft and arm.

Good point on removing of the arms, those fine teeth can round off easily- Oh by the Way, Happy B-Day SKUZA!

Guys, Graham wants to adjust the PARK position of the wiper, not just the swing. The position where the motor places the wiper once it's turned off can drift.

If he adjusts the swing by repositioning the arm on the post so that it rests at the bottom of the windshield when the park position isn't correct, then he risks the wiper traveling off the edges during it's +/- 90° swing!

How can you adjust swing by moving arm on shaft? You can only adjust PARK position by moving arm! When you have self-parking wiper motors, just turn them off and set arm in desired position. When you do not have self-park feature - just observe moving shaft and turn wiper off when is in position closest to windshield edge and set your arm in parked position. To adjust swing - you need to take motor apart, and not all motors can be adjusted.

There is an insert in the arm that can be adjusted that will let you park the wipers anywhere you want. Take the arm off turn it over and look where it it is attached to the wiper motor. If you can get the insert out of the arm, place the insert on the motor "stud" and then affix the arm in the position you want. The trick is getting insert out of the arm. after a few years, it becomes "wedged in" .

My wipers on my 2005 390 motor yacht are not parking at the bottom edge of their arc. When you turn off, they go to bottom and then come up a few inches. Your above answer seems to suggest that I should just physically move the arm to the desired location while the wipers are turned off. Is that correct? I don't want to force it and break the mechanism. Please clarify if you can. Thanks.
