Have recently been enjoying the peace & quiet of going on the hook or picking up an mooring for several nights. I am finding that even when running my generator (Westerbeke 7.6kw diesel) I am not having one bank of batteries recharge. Volts drop down to about 11.2 This is the bank that runs the electrical items including refrig. Yes, I do make sure the A/C switch is on, I have check my battery charger (TruCharge +40) and lights are on. If I am on the hook for longer than a day, I usually have to uses the Emergency start switch to draw power from the other bank to start my port engine.
I guess I never really notices this issue before because most of the overnights were at docks so not an issue.
Any suggestions on where the problem may be. All battery banks charge correctly from shore power supply
I have also checked the obvious and made sure my water level in ALL batteries are full.

The SR 37DA next to by boat (same engines, same gene, same batt charger) is also experiencing same issue.

Not sure on your boat, but we just had a person on a 260 or 280 with the same problem come to find out it was one of the ceramic fuses had blown. Would charge good on shore power, but not from the genset.

Just a thought???

Thanks for this input. Where would that ceramic fuse be, if you know? I'll check this tomorrow and post a reply if successful

Sorry Peter I wish I could. You may want to PM Frank "fwebster"
