Here is the non p-trap version. I just cut off the existing hose and reused it. There are more pictures from others who have done it, further back in this thread.

Larry, I did it a couple of years ago. I ran it above the waterline straight out from the kitchen sink. Works great and no grease mess in the sump. After you drill the whole in the hull make sure you take out some of the wood between the fiberglass and fill the area with epoxy to seal it and let it dry. After that I used 4200 to bed the fitting and tighten it down. Good luck, GregRe routing galley drain?
Every sink drain goes to the sump box. Unlike the head sink drains, the galley sink drains some very greasy organic stuff into the sump box. As the sink is so far above the waterline I would like to re route the drain directly overboard like other boats I've sailed.
Has anyone already done this or figured out how to best do that?
What are you installing? Those of us installing vinyl plank flooring just put it right on top of the existing floor.Hi everyone, Merry Christmas. I just started to take my galley floor up to put a new one down. What a PIA. Has anyone done this in the past? How did you get the vinyl up and even worse, how did you remove the glue? Started to work on it with a heat gun with just a little success. Any tricks? Thanks, Greg
Thanks Greg. I will be careful to seal the core from water ingress. Grease in a sump cant be good.
Bill, looks like you have some sort of nice collar on the hose end for better clamping. Ive never seen that, does it come already on the hose or can it be added to the cut end?
Sorry. Just saw this. That collar is the end of the existing hose that was connected to the bottom of the sink drain. When I cut off the hose I flipped the cut piece around so the cut end was over the sink drain and the finished end was on the thru hull. Thanks Greg. I am using a glue down vinyl. What are you installing? Those of us installing vinyl plank flooring just put it right on top of the existing floor.
Got it. I have the hardwood galley factory option. I forgot have the rubber stuff. More challenging I’m sure.I am using a glue down vinyl.
I used the snap and click vinyl plank. I just ran a bead of adhesive caulk under the perimeter planks. Everything in between just floats. Are you gluing the vinyl planking down?
We are thinking through replacing all the interior carpet with some form of solid flooring (i.e. LVP, etc.)
Anyone know how our fuel senders work?
MineAnyone know how our fuel senders work? My starboard magically dropped 1/4 tank from 3/4 full to half full. My port did this 1/4 drop once about 6 years ago. After I filled it up it never did it again. Is there something about 1/4 tank increments built into the senders?
Mine does something similar. Takes it's time down to the 3/4 mark, then drops pretty quickly to 1/2 mark. I usually just plan on 22 GPH with my 3116's and do the math in my head. I'm usually within 10 gallons total. Not that well apparently. My starboard side has always read 1/4 under. The good thing is that it is consistent and reliably crappy, so I always know how much is in there. I just live with it. Safe travels.
