finally got my outside floor done with PlasDeck material. Started out as my winter project but just finished it after about 6 month on and off this project. Was fun but I'm glad I'm done with it ;) View attachment 106017 View attachment 106018 View attachment 106019 View attachment 106020 View attachment 106021 View attachment 106022 View attachment 106023

Last post. So my sealand/dometic waste pump during the system test didn't turn on this season. I ended up pulling the batteries and climbing in deep. the damn relay died. it is located in the worst spot. behind the pump from view with a plastic cover.(broke it off and worked blind) It was a job and a half to get to and find a replacement. Dometic wanted like 50 bucks with shipping. I found the Hella number and got it on amazon for like 9 bucks. no pic's sorry! I was sweating on a 90 degree day. But I relocated it to the front of the pump with some zip ties and here is the link if anyone wants to ad it to the never ending list. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N66W2XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Lastly I was in the bilge and broke one of the water t's. Most are 22MM, 22MM and 15MM. YOU WILL NOT FIND THIS ANYWHERE! I did at a huge plumbing supply but I would recommend keeping at least on on hand super easy to change out just order online for like 10 bucks or find a supper plumber supply house local and they might have it. That said, if it breaks? no crapper!!! words to live by...

Take a serious look at these units. https://www.marinaire.com/

Yes, chinese made, but I have known people that bought them and have zero problems. If I need to replace another unit, this is what I'm going with. I'm not impressed with Dometic's units anymore, they are pricey and questionable.
Has anyone done this swap for the Salon 16000 btu? The data sheet for this unit shows blower outlet at 4 inch round. The distribution box on the cruisair is square and I do not see any adapters available.

Our rear cockpit canvas attaches via a sliding channel across the top. When it rains, water seems to collect in the channel and drips. In a heavy rain, the area gets quite wet. Do others have this issue? What have you done to resolve it? I’m thinking of caulking the channel/ceiling joint inside and outside, but that won’t help if water is in the channel itself. Any ideas?

I’ve looked at this, and it wouldn’t be difficult to make the required fittings from hardware store sourced material.

Hoping to leave my 3 cyl rag boat behind and move on to Sedan Bridge. There are two 400s under consideration. One is 2000 with Cat 3126s and the other a 2001 with 430 Cummins. Nearly the same hours and condition.
Would like to hear any experiences and advice.
Thanks to all.

I have a 1998 with Cat 3116 and love the boat! They run great with no smoke and have never given my a problem. I have 2300 hours on them and just did a significant service. I have never owned a Cummins but assume they are great as well. Can't go wrong with diesel. Good luck with whatever you decide and I hope you enjoy the boat as much as we do.

I have a 2001 400 DB with Cummins 450C engines that will for sale in about three weeks. If interested let me know. the boat is in North Carolina.

Cummins engines in my 2002 400.
Love them so far! Good power. Efficient for the size and speed of the boat.
Scooper. My rear channel doesn’t leak but my rear window drips. :-(

Ha ha. That wasn’t my question.

Greetings 400DB/Sedan Bridge owners! I have a question...

Do any of you have a solution to keep water from getting in through the hawse on the stern locker? I'm under contract on a 1997, surveys and sea trial are Monday... we went over again the other day because the owner wanted to go over things and it was raining and blowing pretty good and it was rather wet inside the locker. When we did our initial visual inspection it was dry as a bone in there but it was a beautiful, warm & sunny day.

Thank you.

If all goes well and I end up with the boat I was thinking of having my canvas person make a piece with a rubber seal to snap on or around the hawse with a gap at the bottom to allow the cords & hose to pass through...

I doubt that will work because of the angle and so forth.

Best thing to do is remove everything from the locker, make sure the floor is solid and make sure all of the corners are caulked and sealed. Also make sure the drain openings are not clogged.
