I’m not here to quibble over price, I’m looking for a part number.

Thanks
I don’t think the o rings are expensive. I think the caps themselves are pricey.

OK, one more time. I'm looking for a part number for the O ring on the deck fuel fill cap.
It is not listed in the parts book, but I got a replacement at a ace/true value a few years back. either in the nuts and bolts section, or plumbing... I cant remember. but it was a snug fit and worked fine.

AC raw water question. I noticed my raw water has slowly been declining in pressure over the years. (Yes did the dock hose blow through and water blasts through the system) As of right now the pump doesn't prime. But in the water it works, should it?Anyone got a rebuild VS replacement suggestion? I can get a new wet end kit for 65 bucks or a new pump for $268. I'm thinking the impeller is just tired after 16 seasons of service, but am looking to see if anyone else has done it. I don't want to waist a couple prep hours to then have to do it all over again.

If you do find the right size at the hardware store, make sure it is suitable for fuel applications. A standard plumbing O-ring for your house water system will not hold up to being exposed to fuel. The O-rings in your plumbing are not the same as the O-rings in your fuel caps or your oil drain plugs.

You are correct. I was wrong, that was a different project. I used Perko part # 0513DP8. Just checked my records... That is the fuel/water o-rings you want!

Pumps wear out. As far as the motor, hard to tell. It does have wear items too (brushes, bearings) and being in a constant damp environment will take it's toll.

For me, I would just replace the whole item.

I have been searching for a replacement fresh water pump model number. I cannot find the Shurflo 2095-23-234 direct replacement. Can you provide what you have found.

Off Season project. Replacing side and sliding door curtains. Has anyone found a replacement for the plastic tabs which slide into the curtain channel. Would like to keep the same curtain system just need to find the plastic curtain holders which slide into the rail.

That's an old model replaced by the Aqua King 2 lineup. I put in the 3.0gpm Aqua King. Some put in the 4.0. Your choice there.

Rudy, they are Recmar, I think # 3042. Greg

Please post pics when you get the new curtains in. I pulled mine out last year and had them cleaned. I was worried that the plastic clips would disintegrate, but they held up. It was tough to find a place in town that had a "pleater" after they were cleaned.

Today was 50 here in Charm City. Instead of hopping on the bike I decided to get the AIS installed. I chose the Vesper XB6000 and the SP160 VHF splitter. A fair amount of time was spent tracing the wires off my Accessory switch on the helm. It powered only the Sonar, so I spliced the splitter and AIS transmitter power into that switch as well. That way they are off when I leave the boat.

I got it all mounted and wired in. See below. Ignore the rats nest of wires. They are being cable tied to clean up the look and keep the storage accessible. This is the right side, under the helm.

I used the USB port to my laptop to verify operation. And I looked at an AIS mapping website and an iPhone app (ShipTracking) to verify Shenanigans was showing up:

I haven’t hooked up a NMEA2000 network yet. That’s next, when I finally install the Axiom 9 on the helm. Then I’ll get to see the AIS data on the plotter!

Nice! Are you replacing your old system or just adding the Axiom 9 as a stand alone additional MFD?
Assume the Vesper built in antenna didn't have any problem seeing the sky from under the helm?
Keep us posted, sooner or later I suppose my old original electronics are going to have to go!

I’m not replacing the RL80C yet. It still works well. Sort of. On a trip to Cape May last September, we drove right off the edge of our chart as we left the C&D canal! Fortunately, I had my iPad as backup. The RL just doesn’t have the memory size to keep larger areas in charts. So that made the decision for me that I had to get something new for navigation. I’m one of those guys that preaches iPads and phones for backup ONLY. I’ve had them shut down from direct sunlight too often (usually when in new or difficult waters) to not have a real chart plotter as primary.

So the Axiom is an addition. It will show charts and AIS and whatever other data I can get off the existing SeaTalk network. At a later date I’ll replace the RL80 and Radar with another Axiom and RM radar. I should be able to keep the original autopilot and fish finder even then (although I might not be able to have the AP follow a route on the Axiom).

The Vesper appears to get GPS signals well, even under the helm. Their configuration software shows lots of diagnostics, including GPS satellite strength. They were all strong. I did a lot of research on this issue before I chose the Vesper and found other users that had no issues with it under a Fiberglass helm. The one I got did come with a free external GPS antenna. But I don’t seem to need it, which is good. It means I don’t have to make a hole in the dash!

And yes, once I get the Axiom in, I’ll take pics. It’s going on a mount on the helm, above the RL.

I did the same thing before we looped. The old stuff still all works and we had it on a previous boat so we both know it, but I didn't trust it to last to take off for a year and a half with it. So I put a Garmin above the RL80 on the dash 6 years ago. Now I have 2 old perfectly working MFD's. Ha!. Good luck with it.
