Now, what to do with the old coffee maker? We are a Keurig boat.

Ok, you guys saw I removed the coffee maker today and reclaimed that space. I am probably going to run a cord down through the hole where the coffee maker cord went, to plug into the AC outlet that hidden down there. That will power our Keurig. I might even install an outlet in the cabinet to make things easier. Now that I know there’s an AC outlet down below, that project sounds a lot more simple. Here’s a picture of the outlet looking into the corner cabinet under the sink. You can see the backside of the AC outlet in the upper left of the picture.

I also finally removed the Clarion remote up on my helm. One of the first things I did in getting this boat was replace the head unit with a fusion and unit that had Bluetooth. So the remote was just taking up space on my dash and did nothing. Fortunately, the wireless remote from fusion fit exactly over the old hole.

The last thing I did today was remove the old Ray Marine 230 VHF radio hidden under my dash. It wasn’t being used, as the previous owner had installed a Std Horizon radio, so it has to come out. That involved untying a lot of the cable ties under the dash to get the power cable and the SeaTalk cable out. I was also able to decipher the rest of the wiring in my helm, so my helm wiring diagram is now complete. I plan to mount my VHF/AIS splitter Adv my AIS transceiver in the spot where the 230 was. No pictures yet, because I stopped for the day after getting the radio out and did not install the AIS yet.

I drew ours up in Autocad a year or two ago and had shirts made. I just traced over a pic of my boat, and then adjusted the line weights as I wanted. I used Custom Ink online. Super easy to design online with an image, and you can buy 1 or 2 shirts if that's all you want. We ditched our radar arch when we bought the boat to fit under the marina that we were at. We've since moved with more clearance and may put it back on at some point.

This looks fantastic! What head unit are you using? Did you have room to go with the 8.8's? or is the lack of room why you went with the 7.7's? What amps did you buy? Do you have any pictures of your amps hooked up? Did you think about or rule out the idea of using JL tower speakers to have music for those people swimming? (I was thinking about doing this - 4 pair's of 8.8's - One on the arch facing the water, one in the cockpit above the ice maker, and one in the bridge. I was also thinking about putting one in front of the dash facing the bow. I was also thinking about replacing the interior four speakers with JL 6.5's - Thoughts??) TIA
Sorry, I'm just getting back. I haven't been on the forum for a bit. Thank you, it was quite a process, but we really love it. We had a decent Fusion AV600 with a remote at the helm in place when we bought the boat. I later added a second remote at the swim platform. Fusion changed their remotes to a smaller unit, so my existing remote holes were too big to upgrade the deck when I did the rest, which kind of sucks. I could work around that some day if I had too. My deck is fine and sounds awesome though. Think I'm only lacking a few features if anything. I originally had 6.5's up top, and then heard the 7.7's with separate tweeters. I couldn't believe the difference. Since I now had the 6.5's in the replacement, I went ahead and threw them in too. Yes, you have room for 8.8' where my 7.7's are. The 10" sub's fit, but just barely on the starboard side. For some reason it's just a little shallower. I made up for that with spacers on the subs. 7.7's are probably max in the cockpit. I've attached a diagram of my system that I threw together in Autocad so that I could keep track of it all. It has all of my parts, and how it's all wired up. All of the amps are under the fold down sofa. I added a 4th battery to my port starting battery similar to the house setup on the other side to help with capacity, and the amps are wired directly to that with 2 gauge into splitters down to 4 gauge. (Pic attached). They turn on with the head unit. All of it comes up through the fuel sender access plate directly from the engine room. With 2000 watts, I tuned the gain down to adjust it to my chosen max listening level, in case someone decided to crank it to the top without blowing any speakers. My audio guy in town said buy as many watts as you can afford, and go down from there for the cleanest sound. I've really been trying to figure out a way to get forward mounted speakers, but haven't figured anything out to look good. I'm not in to exposed wires on the bow with tower speakers mounted to the rails. I did consider tower speakers mounted backwards under the arch. Honestly with as much power and bass that I have, listening from the water is not a problem at all for some clean and loud levels. If I did anything facing backwards, I considered tower speakers mounted to solid 1 1/4" aluminum rod, that dropped into the rod holders on each side, with a quick disconnect plug that I could tuck into the lockers on either side at the battery switches, and fuel shutoffs. I would add a 4th amp to run just those. Be happy to help in any way that I can! Post pics!

1. Has anyone removed the open back dinette backrest to recover it? Is it hard to remove?

2. Has anyone recovered the vinyl side of the swim platform access door? Is it hard to do?

I pulled our dinette cushions out when we had them recovered with the rest of the interior furniture. Certainly doable, but not a great time. You'll need a pretty long phillips to do it if I remember. The fold down sofa will have to come out first. They didn't hold back on getting them screwed down. Good on Sea Ray I guess, but think it was pretty overkill. I think that there were a couple that didn't go back in because of their locations for us, and it's still more than stable. I do remember one on the forward side dinette backrest that was a real bit$# to get out. A big oddly placed lag that just screwed into the bulkhead of the guest berth. That one definitely did not go back in. I wouldn't mind re-doing the vinyl on the back side of our transom door either if you figure it out. Our cockpit bench is at the upholsterer now. The crappy wooden base (grey thing in the pic) that it sits on that has broken in several places is being replaced with a piece of 1/2" aluminum bar 1/2"X8"X60" that I ordered online this morning, and will find someone local to cut into shape.

I've had both dinette bench seats out so I know how to do those. It's the aft backrest I was asking about. I see yours is off in the picture. Is it just some lag screws accessed from inside the compartment?

Yes. If you zoom in on the one picture, the aft seat back on the far port side screws in from the bottom vertically from inside the bar cabinet with lags. Now that I've had time to think about it more, the one that gave me fits was a long lag that went from inside the guest berth bulkhead before they covered it with vinyl, into the seat back on the other side of the wall. There would be no way to get it out without removing the vinyl upholstery inside the v-berth. I got them all loose but that one, and then just had to work it off of the screw. It was ridiculous.

I’m doing an upgrade of my audio equipment. does anyone want a 6 disc clarion changer?
I don’t want anything for it. Just pay the freight and you can have it if interested.
The head unit didn’t properly function so I tossed it.
