40 sedan bridge forum

Have you looked at a company called ( jetthusters.com )? These seem less intrusive to the boat, one central pump and uses a type of thru hull fitting instead of a tunnel through the whole boat. They just seem like a better retro fit type system.

Ok. I’m intrigued. How much does one of these cost for a 400DB? Any estimate?

About $6500 plus install. I'm thinking about doing the install myself but our marina doesn't like to allow private work.

We'll see, I'll let you all know.

I think Arickosmo is pretty close I have seen them as low as $5200.00. I think most of the savings would be in the install they look to be a lot less intrusive then the other systems I have seen.

I've had it! It took me 5 tries to get the boat into it's slip last weekend. We had a pretty nasty headwind that was bouncing from port to stbd and giving me fits. As soon as I was lined up the bow would veer off and I'd have to abort. Us gas engine boats don't have the prop authority you diesel luckies do so when I'm in danger, I need to get away before it gets worse. I simply can not crab walk it into a decent wind. So...

Thrusters. Anyone got any insight? I'm researching and I REALLY don't want to be the guy that "needs" thrusters but this is season three and this boat does not respond well in a good blow. Any input is appreciated.

Mine is the same, I'm ready for them already

Makes sense, except for the part where you make sure the wind always faces your stern. I think that might actually be an Irish toast. There is absolutely no guarantee that my bow will be able to spin into the wind once I'm committed. That's why I'm installing a thruster.
Mine damn sure doesn't spin into the wind, the wind takes it where it wants to

I'm looking at the biggest pump, JT90. I don't want to wish for more later. I have a quote from the US supplier when I investigated this as we purchased the boat. I was hoping for insight on various "types" of thrusters but it looks like I'll be the guinea pig.

Well, please make sure to chronicle your experience here - good or bad. Several of us are going to be watching your progress!

The Jet Thruster looks like an interesting concept.
There are just two reservations I would have about it.
1. Sucking up seaweed, a plastic bag, or other item at a critical time.
2. Can it move as much water or have the same torque when needed as a traditional Thruster with a fairly big 6 blade prop.

Hi guy I own a 2007 Sedan bridge and I have a leak problem between the kitchen and the water heater I have water coming out under the starboard engine I already change the water heater check the three ac don’t see any leaks there any more but still have a steady small leak can anyone help me where to look after going creasy and I have research and it seems this. Boats have this problems

Hose came unattached from macerator pump to seacock. Luckily no spillage. Hard area to get too. I plan to remove my batteries to allow more room to access the hose to reattach it. Had anyone else done this and do you have helpful suggestions. Thank you!

Can't remember if you had a floating covered dock. I use these. Thought you were on a lake. Ryano rollers. My boat is 8" narrower than my slip, and these make a 20-30 mph crosswind no big deal. I pin one side to the downwind roller and just pivot around it with opposite side rearward thrust.

All 400 sedan bridge owners. We are looking at purchasing one and comparing it to a 391 meridian. Looking at the pros and cons of the 400 DB and for some feedback. The one big pro is the $100k+ price difference

I crawled back into that corner to replace the cockpit drain thru hull. I only had to remove the two port batteries and was able to get back there.

Has anybody run wires up to the master stateroom? I'm thinking that I need to run a new RG6 cable from the vacuum storage locker to the forward TV. Has anybody done this? How much needs to come apart, or do you have any good tricks?

I'll be diagnosing this week to know for sure, but I suspect the coax cable is bad somewhere along its run.

A previous owner of my boat ran an inverter up to the master from the engine room to power the forward TV. Poor job, but the pathway seems to be ok. Drop into your engine room, and then up through the center of the boat thru the under stair AC space, galley bilge, sump bilge, and master stateroom locker (bilge)

I did. I don't remember exactly other than it wasn't hard. All the existing wiring is right there behind the compartment door behind the sofa. I think I did remove the panel in the guest head cabinet to help things along. You could try using the existing cable as the leader and pull the new one through using it. Or push a stiff wire or fishtape backward from the stateroom tv cabinet into the vacuum compartment.
