Congrats!

Anyone make there own salon windshield sun screen? The Sailrite website makes it look easy!

It's not difficult. I have a walking foot sewing machine and I have made biminis and isinglass enclosures, zip up windows, etc.

The key is to make a good pattern. There are some curves so getting a pattern is important. Pick a time of day when there is zero wind and lay it out on the windshield.

I haven't made mine yet, I'm still undecided to go with a cover or buy the stick on type privacy material. I'll probably go with the cover because I'm use to sewing and more comfortable with that.

A couple of quick questions:

1) what’s the thickness of the melamine board that the stereo mounts to?

2) where can I get an access panel cover for the radar arch, like this (sorry it’s upside down)?

My helm seat got screwed up when the shrink wrap was applied.
I almost took this thing apart today. Any advice or manuals for this helm seat and operating / repair instructions. It ha one handle for raising and lowering. One handle that stops the thing from spinning and one that slides it forward and back. It won't raise or lower and I can't even take my boat anywhere... I am not pleased!

Ugh. I had the same happen. You lost one of the set screws that holds the housing together. The inner section needs to extend enough to match to the top of the seat pole. You can see just the top of where the set screw is (marked in RED) and that sleeve needs to be pulled UP. You can see the scratch lines where the set screw was dragging on the metal (outlined in yellow). it needs to go way up. Its a pain in the ass, but you can get it done without taking it all apart! FWIW I did try to take it all apart; it ended with a lot of cursing, all the hardware is frozen and I eventually realized it does not need to be done.

I've joined the vacuuflush nightmare in my 1999 400 Sedan Bridge. After identifying a problem with the duck bills I located the VG2 units beneath the flooring where the Saloon AC is located. After gathering opinions and searching endlessly, the only way to get at them was to cut a hole in the AC flooring. The VG2 "L" units could not come out of the access area beneath the port stateroom (I have the 3 stateroom model) due to the unit rising above the long beam obstructing. I tried to remove it from the shower/bathroom sump access but a 2 by 4 beam running directionally port to starboard was bolted against the beams. There was no access to the back side of the beam. Out came the drill, reciprocating saw and jig saw. I moved the AC unit (original) 3 inches to starboard and sawed an access panel, then second access pane. What a job!

I rebuilt the unit furthest in the stairwell with a new pump, new duckbills and new vacuum sensor. The HVAC unit partially obscures the new "access" panel so I figured better to be safe with that one. Apparently they had never been accessed as the motors and vacuum sensors are from 1998, the duckbills were old and barely working and of course there was no way to access them without my newly constructed (destructed) access panel. I'm happy to report everything is working great!

As this has been the year I've been doing some boat upgrades, I wanted to give a shout out to Boatswain's Locker. I purchased my new enclosure, replacing my old, tired bimini and the experience was amazing. Everyone, including Lucinda and the owner were great. They took my call at 7PM to talk me through measurements, made my new enclosure, provided loaner tools and talked my wife and I through the installation that came out perfect. A top notch company that I intend to make additional purchases from Thank you again Boatswain's Locker!

Guess I'm a bit confused as to why you had to cut your floors to get to the vacuflush units. I have a '99 as well, and I recently changed the duckbill valves by accessing the units through the access under the bunk in the port guest stateroom. Tight access, but I got the job done.

SOOOOO I spent another half day trying to get that sleeve to go higher. It seems to be stuck or screwed down. I could not get it to move at all. I was hoping to at least get it to hold but I did not have any luck. I think I may need to contact the seat ray dealer and just get it done.
The seat wouldn't go lower and the sleeve would not go higher.
