Does anyone know where I can order the cover over two round holes for the rope locker. It’s located below the anchor on the port side, possibly horn?

I got mine from the searayman13 on ebay, Been a few years but a quick check showed he's still is selling them. The price went up but what's $30 on a boat. Stainless.

I had a cover for an air vent come off and was able to order it through Marine Max. I’d start there.

I purchased this one from amazon that is a stainless replacement

AFI Marine 11066 Stainless Steel Grill for 11058 Marine Concealed Dual Trumpet Below Deck Air Horn https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NV2TJG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_U3ryBb319C9E4
Thank you for this.... I flipped my boat around in the slip last weekend to clean the bow and noticed mine was in pretty rough shape. Just ordered one. Going to see if it's the same vent as on top of the refrigerator which I assume it probably is. That one completely disintegrated over 20 years in the sunlight.

I will post a more detailed reply tomorrow, but for now let me say that my experience started off great...and quickly went downhill. Took me almost 3 months to get them delivered after I was told it would be 5 days. The good news when they were delivered they worked perfect.

Thanks for the reply. I was finally able to make contact with Asgis-Hahn in Germany who quoted me over $250.00!! To ship them directly. The unit cost was about $87.00 each but the shipping, handling etc... adds up and they are “promising” 3-4 week delivery. Considering they want payment up front it seems it may not be worth the risk.

Based on your experience it sounds like the whole thing is a bust! I am seriously considering making it a permanent height. By the way Garelick wasn’t much help. They said their best would be to replace the pedestal for $699. The stainless screws I bought to fix it cost about $2.00. The swivel works perfectly but obviously the height adjustment does not.

It’s so annoying that as soon as the word Marine is added to a product the cost goes up 600%!

Again thanks for the feedback.

I took my shocks out when they failed, as the lowest height is actually the perfect height for us. I did have to replace a lot of those little screws on the side of the pedestal. The heads had sheared off. I am sure Mike will be back with his story but he posted previously in this thread where he got the shocks for $81 each.

I found it. Post 2720: http://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/40-sedan-bridge-forum.53961/page-136#post-985755

Hi Bill. Thank you for the information. Between you and Mike I am al ost ready to roll.

I was also able to get a quote from Garelick for replacement shocks which was more reasonable than Aegis. Aegis USA has yet to call me back. Testing the height today. Hopefully it will be tall enough without the shock.

Thanks for all the quick replies on the horn cover on my bow!

Here another request....does anyone have any input on where

When I bought the boat it had all the old legacy electronics at the helm. Circa 2000. I had several issues with them.

- Charts were too slow to update and plotter controls were very difficult to use with any efficiency
- Radar dome broke pretty soon after purchase
- Autopilot controller was too far away to reach
- Clunky RN300 with passive antenna on radar arch provided GPS data to the helm.
- Ray220 VHF required an awkward key sequence for DSC.

So, I finally went about correcting all this on a budget. I bought the Furuno 1815 radar for standalone radar (which I prefer) and I bought a Standard Horizon GX2200 with internal GPS antenna and AIS receiver. Then I shuffled the deck. The Furuno radar is now installed where the autopilot controller was. The Autopilot is now installed where the RN300 GPS was. The RN300 function has been replaced by the VHF radio - it provides the GPS data for the boat now. The iPad (my spouse got it brand-new for $99 as a promotion for buyer herself a new iphone8) replaces an iPad mini that I use for detailed charts and routes and ETA, etc. The big old RL80C stays and is used for long range chart view and to display data boxes and to record anchor spots (MOB). The old L760 Fishfinder stays and is used for a second depth transducer and finding fish (if I ever go fish). So that’s my new poor man’s helm.

Dear Bill,

I just bought a Standard Hosizon GX2200 as you did.
I removed the old RN300 GPS.

How do you connected the GPS signal from the SH VHF GX2200 radio to the Raymarine AutoPilot ?
Raymarine uses SeaTalk and the radio uses NMEA 0183
Thank you
Fernando.

Not sure what you have for a chart plotter, but on mine the RL80C got its gps data from the RN300 via Seatalk. The autopilot's Course Computer gets its nav data from the RL80C via NMEA. So now that your RN300 is gone, just connect the two NMEA out wires from the GX2200 to the two NMEA in wires on your chart plotter. That should be all you need to do.

Ok, bill thank you
I will check the connection this weekend

I just change my windshield screen from Black to White color this weekend, I made the windscreen cover all the way to cover all the windows. It feels a lot fresh and clear inside.
I really like the look of the black but with the Florida sunshine the salon gets too hot.
