40 express vs 46 sundancer

I have a 40 express diesel with great performance - cruises at 28 mph, tops out at 34 mph, on plane down to 13-15 mph. I'm looking to move up to a 46 sundancer. How does the 46 perform compared to this? I'm concerned that I'll be disappointed with speed, though I love the layout. Any comments on 46 performance?

Make the move-you will be happy! I had a 41EC Last year ('02) and went to an '03 460 this year. Very happy with the performance of the 480CE's. My 410 had the 450's and that boat was a fast runner. The way to look at it is this, my 410EC was a "sports-car"-My 460DA is truly the step up into a "yacht-class" boat. The wastegated electronic 480CE run smoother, more quiet, more fuel effficient, less black plume @ turbo-spool up etc. Now we don't go 30-32 mph at cruise (2250 rpm) anymore. We tend to be going 25-26 mph at the same rpms but with such a smoother ride, big boat feel inside and out. Hope that helps, Not to mention that my wife uses that washer and dryer almost every day- The boat rags/towels from washing up my beauty are always stacked and clean!

One of my neighbors has the 460 with Hardtop....he LOVES the boat...he moved up from '89 340DA.....this past season he had the hull re-gelcoated in the new Sea Ray Taupe and the boat looks B-UTE-E-Full.!!!!
