Boat Info
2001 SeaRay Sundancer 310
Engines
350 Mercruiser 350 Mag MPI Horizon - V Dive
350 Mercruiser 350 Mag MPI Horizon - V Drive
My 2001 310DA originally had a genset, but was removed due to it seizing up. I replaced it with a good used one, but need help connecting the AC wires.

I currently have:
Black (+) to breaker stud
Green (-) to breaker box mounting bolt (ground)
White (N) not connected - I do not see a buss bar or a connection to connect with other neutral connections.

Does anyone have a photo or diagram of theirs? It is a 120V 60HZ setup with the jumper.

TIA

If you post some more information like the exact year/model and possibly a pic of what your referring too would be great.

Specifically what model/year? Westerbeke has a pretty good technical documents library. If you know model and year, you can get the exact schematic/install manuals. I also found the parts lists and service manual.

The boat is a 2001 310 sundancer
Generator is a 2001 Westerbeke 4.5 BCGB

The boat originally had everything so the exhaust, fuel line, and remote starting wiring (harness connector) all were plug and play but the harness in the boat has the (3) AC Wires that need to be connected to the breaker (positive, negative, and neutral). I just am trying to figure out where the neutral should be connected. I tried to upload a photo but it will not work for some reason.

Your wire diagram shows ground and neutral going to same lug. Don’t confuse A/C and D/C wiring. There is no positive and negative in A/C wiring.

Thank you. Sorry for the confusion, new to AC/DC systems!

The white neutral wire does bond/connect to the ground on the generator for 120 volt AC.
Both the Black (Hot) and White (Neutral) must be switched at the transfer switch for the generator AND shore power.

When on shore power the neutral is bonded to ground at the marina's service entrance. That is classified as the power generation source.
When on generator power the neutral is bonded to ground on the generator. As when on generator power, the generator is fully disconnected from shore power (both Hot and Neutral legs) and the generator is now classified as the power generation source.

Your picture appears to be in the generator's J-Box; the generator's installation manual will dictate how and where that wiring should terminate.
