4.3LX fuel filter on pump; any tips?

Any tips/tricks to changing the fuel filters that are on the fuel pumps?

Engines are 1992 4.3LX with filters mounted in/on fuel pumps.

Pretty straight forward 390pi. Just did mine.
Factory and older style filters are a pumice stone type. For the past 10 years or so the replacenents are the typical paper filter style that will use a different top load spring, which is included with your new Mercruiser filter. (various gaskets come with the filter for various applications, again a no brainer to select the one that matches the one you remove).
Obviously take all the needed steps when working with gasoline.
A little gas will spill when you open up the cover, so have a rag ready to catch the 2 or 4 tablespoons that may spill.
By memory the filter kits are about $10.
Make sure you re safety wire the clamp screw when done.
Triple check for any leaks.
