3rd Battery

Not sure if this is factory or something someone added.

1986 Sundancer 268. Twin Mercruisers.

There are 2 larger batteries in front of the two engines, and a third smaller battery along the port wall behind the fresh water tank.

I cannot figure out how to remove this third battery for the winter, short of removing the alternator.

Any ideas?

I have no idea if that was standard issue... but at 34 years old, who knows what previous owners may have done. Odd place, though. At this point, though, that's a moot point. What wires were connected to the battery and where did they run to? What system no longer operated after you removed the wires?

Can't you pick the battery up and turn it sideways to pull it out? Up and over the riser hose?

Did you already remove the tiedown for it?
