Frank C welcome back! We have missed you.

It's our attempt to save on fuel. We figure the trip to AC will take us 6 days. Of course the pic is from Ron "Ansel Adams". The fee is in the mail.

Not sure on food yet for the trip. Will let you know soon.

It looks like it is coming together nicely... I am looking forward to seen Frank C and Cheryl... Last year the fake bands were playing on the dock and it was great. We loved hear the Chicago band... When it get closer we will figure out what to bring...

For those of you heading south and hoping to go thru the Little Egg Inlet, my understanding is it is closed. Many fishing boats are moving north the Barnegat Light. Rumor has it the you can sneak out the north side of the LEI but is not marked.

Yikes. Ed, I was going to reach out to you to pick your brain (as I do every year). Oyster Creek Channel is shoaled in supposedly, and Double Creek is probably still closed (was last year).

Ron, there's always the OCEAN, you know.....

That's the problem. We are talking about serious problems at each inlet, which are those things you need to traverse to GET to the ocean. Manasquan Inlet is fine but it's easily an hour + in the wrong direction for me.

Re: 3rd Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

I hate inlets. That's why the mouth of my river is three miles wide. No salt either. :)

Inlets are boaters' equivalent of white-water rafting around here. Approaches suck from inside and outside, skinny water all around and the bottom shifts faster than they can move the markers. Seatow and TowBOAT drift around in waiting and are kept very busy.

Apologies to Absecon, which is one of the best. Manasquan is ok. Great Egg is not really an inlet...more of a gaping opening, very washing-machine-like due to depth. Haven't done Cape May but hear it's very good. Quite a few others that are not navigable (Corsons, Heresford).

Re: 3rd Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Cape May is just like Manasquan......easy.

Re: 3rd Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

I've done Cape May many times, the most recent was last Sunday. It's wide, well marked and plenty deep.

You going to bring your shiny new boat down to Atlantic City for the festivities? Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: 3rd Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Markers were changed in Great Egg this year. They are moved further south with a new and rather interesting/dangerous dog-leg between markers requiring you to take the washing-machine like waves broadside! Absecon is safe depth-wise, but I've seen that thing when it's not happy - best to stay away from any inlet when sea conditions and wind are wrong. Cape May is almost always the best/easiest inlet in NJ.
