All,

I am interested in purchasing a 2005 390 motoryacht. She is equipped with most options and has the Cummins 480 CE engines with approximately 200 hours. I am interested in your opinions about the boat including performance, problems areas, what to watch out for in the survey, any recalls, etc...

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

There was another thread, which I can't find at the moment, where FWebster said that he ran the MY (I don't recall if it was 390 or other larger, but it was 40+ footer MY) and it was not a good ride at all in the conditions where other models, including DAs the ride was just fine.

I can honestly say the 390MY runs fine in all sorts of different weather. She handle 4,5.6.7 footers great. I reminds me of the 340 SD actually, I think that is because unlike most Sedan Bridge boats its not that high off the water.

Also the weight of the boat really helps.

I am totally bias - but I love this boat. Its awesome.

Thanks all for you help, especially the other thread. I am looking at the boat today and will let you know if can cut a deal and pass the survey

We took the plunge and bought a motoryacht. Not the one we first asked about. We ended up with a 2007 40 Motoryact with the newer QSB 425 engines. We are very excited and if I could figure out how to post a picture, I will.

I would try and speak with the MM (or whoever sells in your area) techs that have worked on them. Not the sales guys but the guy's that are down doing the work. I have found they usually are a very good source of information. \

Hi, I just purchased a 390 Motor Yacht and must replace both motors and am seeking information on how exactly to remove the requisite portions of the flybridge and console and windshield to facilitate the removal and replacement of the motors buried deep within the hull. anyone with an instruction guide and or experience would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance

Funseeker,

I would think you will have to cut a hole in the side of the hull, big enough to remove and install both engines. Then fix the side when you are done. Removal of the top is fairly straightforward but tideous work. Once the top is off, you would have to remove the rub rail and take off the entire top. Once that is done, you would have to remove the cabin sole. None of that makes sense.

I sure hope you got a good deal on the boat as this seems like an expensive endeavor.

Good Luck,

Dan
