:grin::grin::grin: Al, do not hate me too much!!!:grin::grin:

Actually, the idea was there long ago...but without the lid! Problem is that water from the sides dripped right into the bin...

check post # 163, the bin was already there! :smt001

Finally, after almost one year I have found the right door for the bins I built into the side of the cockpit. Perfect place for my friends' shoes as they step on board!

Where you used the starboard on the sides and around the cabinet, did you leave the screw heads visable or are you going to cover them. Looks like a good idea to replace the upholstry on the sides walls with that stuff. Just wondering how difficult that is?

I used small screws with countersunk head and I will leave them visable. I like it that way.

I did not make the work myself as I had the yard doing it, but it does not look too difficult. "Dr. MicroChip" is doing the work by himself right now and he could tell you how difficult it is.

That access door looks exactly like mine Pietro. I got mine at West Marine and I have it installed on the port side where I have my 50' coiled wash down hose stored. The pump is almost directly below where the original waste macerator pump was and the piping comes up through the floor to a shut off valve for my hose. I have a quick connect fitting that the wash down hose can snap on to. I took the macerator pump out a few years back and took advantage of the existing through hull fitting for my wash down pump.

Pietro, Absolutly beautiful-Love the 390, best of that era! Maybe someday......Lol

Very interesting and educational! I even learned a little Italian. But now after seeing Your female clientele I'm wondering more about how "you spend more time on your boat than with me" would sound like in Italian?

Your dive platform has more sq footage than my cockpit!

I never thought I would ever discover that the black windshield trim is still made! I thought I was going to have to live with the shrinkage gaps forever.

I see Flexiteek is now the Pergo flooring of the boating industry. Where can the commoner find that stuff as remnants?

I will be doing the seat covers in sunbrella ASAP, and out with the shag on the ceiling! :smt101

Someone asked about the tab/sponson I added to the transom of my 390, so I’m sharing the info with you all hoping it might be of help.

This is the sponson. I measured it again today but I had no goniometer with me so I cannot be precise about the angle, but you can see it in the pic, I would say some 5°

This is the new battery box. It’s made out of marine plywood and holds 6 batteries plus one just for the generator:

Has anyone here in the states added anything like this? I assume this helps get/keep the bow down? Even with full tabs down it would be great if my boat would run with the bow a bit lower...

"passi più tempo in barca che con me!"

oknoproblem, the battery box is not vented.

Pietro
just wanted to say I have very much enjoyed this thread
Thanks for taking the time to share
Gave me some inspiration to work on my project
although not as extensively as you
Jim

Pietro,
This is still one of the best redo threads on CSR. Your passion for your boat is inspiring. If I ever get a chance to spend time in Italy I'll look you up. Next time I'm in Aix-les Bains, France, I may take a long weekend and come see MoonChild.
