Hey everyone, finally pulled the trigger and repowered my 05/ 290 sunsport with twin 383 fwc mpis, got the boat back yesterday and im running into a few issues i would like to get sorted asap..

Like most of you, next to my battery switches are they keyed ignition switches, and then I also have 3 position rocker switches to the left of the steering wheel .. OFF>ON>START
With the battery switches on, turning the key give you the ignition beep and primes the fuel pump, the rocker switches have no effect besides the start function. Once started the rocker switches do nothing else, to kill the engines i have to turn the keys by the battery switches.

Another issue i see after getting the boat back is that with battery switches off i still have power to the house and helm, does not seem like alot of power is going thru as the arch light will flicker if i operate the hatch, where as if the battery switch is on it does not flicker. So just wondering if anyone had this issue before, i believe something is back feeding power into the system or maybe the battery switch isnt fully disconnecting?

gonna go poke around and see what i find but any suggestions would be appreciated.. thanks!
rob

Looking like this may be a smartcraft issue, the starboard key is initalizing BOTH ignitions even with both battery switches off.. starboard key off , port key on , port operates like it should. If i unplug the can harnesses from the junction box up front i loose gauges but then both motors are operational as they should be with the rocker switches.. leaning towards junction box may be bad. I did also read that the power connector for each can harness at the engine should only be connect to one motor with a twin engine setup, so it could also be that.. or i could be totally wrong... any suggestions??

Maybe they did not assign motors when installed so Smartcraft is confused.

Turned out that searay does something different with the power for the smartcraft and both power leads by the CAN harness from both motors needed to be unplugged. All is operational again as it should be.. now time to seatrial and break them in!

Glad you got it handled go enjoy my weekend weather sucks this coming weekend so I don't think I'll be going out
