Hi, A couple of weeks ago I broke my windshield vent window by accidently stepping on it. Does anyone know a good salvage yard where I could get a new used one.

I've tried to buy new one from Sea Ray,they checked with Taylor Made, they are telling me it will cost $4000, I have to buy the whole center section of the windshield. I tried to have one made and I'm not having much luck there.

I can believe I can't buy this piece glass only somewhere!?!

Thanks for any help, Ron

Salvage yard ... kiddin' huh ??

Some glass shop should be able to make one for you, maybe not local ...

That's what I would do. Take the frame to a custom glass shop with a sample of the broken glass. Should be able to help you out. If not, pay the deductible on your insurance and let your insurer pay the $4,000.

or just make one from clear plexi, reuse old hardware and should be less than $100

The boat is too nice to do a quick and dirty fix. It would also trash the resale price.

I don't know if links to a retailer is allowed or not. Admin, if it is not please remove.

Try http://www.fpmarine.com

They sell overstock and obsolete parts for SR and other manufacturers.

Hey, thanks guys for all your suggestions.

I have already had a piece of lexon cut to fit as temperary solution. It is ok but not the real thing, cost was $20. I don't really want to turn this into insurance, seems pretty minor for that.

The boat is soon being put away for the winter, over the winter I will be searching for a new piece of glass, any more suggestions would apperciated.

Thanks again for any help.:smt100
