Hello- I'm looking for any help that I can get regarding the gauges for both of the above mentioned items. I recently sold my 2001 380DA and these two gauges are not reading properly. I figure it is probably the sending units for each, and was trying to figure out what's involved in replacing them. I hope someone has had a similar need and appreciate any feedback at all..thanks in advance for any help..Don

I would start first by trying to flush some clean water through the system. The float switches may work better after that. Go to the pump out station, and after pumping out, get the operator to backflush the tank by running water back through the pumpout line.

If this all fails, get on the phone with Dometic, the company that owns Sealand products. 800-321-9886. It will help it you have the proper model number of the holding tank. It's a 42 gallon tank. Model 42 THS-VG, I think. The sending units are installed in the top of the tank with simple wiring that should have heat sealed connections if they get replaced.

The holding tank float switches do get bunked up, simple fix. After pumping out refill tank halfway with fresh water, chemical and a few squirts of dawn dish detergent, take a cruise to churn the mix and then pump out again. This will make phase II more pleasant, disconnect the wires and unscrew the sending unit assembly from the top of the holding tank, take it onto the dock and hose it down to remove the build up. Now reverse the process to reinstall. I have been adding a few squirts of Dawn every weekend and have not had any holding tank sender issues since, it breaks down the grease in the tank and keeps the floats free.

Hey thanks for the sugestions, I'm hopeful a good cleaning will take care of the issue..df
