The backrest on the rear seat of our 370da is in need of replacement. The old canvas apparently let water seep onto the uphostry and rotted the wood behind the cushion. I had my local canvas guy take a look at it and he says he has not had good luck with that style of wrap around upholstry. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I want it to look factory verses the straight cushion that he wants to do. You will have to forgive me on how dirty things look, the pic was taken at the p.o.'s slip just before I rescued this boat. Thanks

My back rest was also rotted. I went to lowe's and bought me a sheet of 1/4 inch PT plywood. I remade the frame then reattached the upholstery and foam. Before I put the upholstery back on I coated the back side with resin. You can buy the staples(SS) at home depot. You can clean the upholstery to make it a little bit soft.

I did the same thing with my 300. As long as the vinyl is in good shape it's not that hard to do, just takes a bit of patience.

Find a better upholstery guy. There are folks that do great work out there, may not be cheap but worth it. I have seen work that looked OEM but better quality. There is a guy here in CT that is outstanding but you probably should be able to find someone local. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for the input. The guy I have been using did a phenomenal job on the new canvas so Ithought this would be a relatively easy project for him. I need to find someone better suited forrepairing upholstery they are just few and far between in Northern Michigan. I thought about reusing the old vinyl but washoping to get a whole new backrest made. Russ, how about I buy your backrest and yourupholsterer can just make you a new one.
