Hi All:

The picture shown is of a friends Sea Ray that was stolen last night (Sept 26, 2017) around 5pm from the Gananoque Municipal Marina in Gananoque, Ontario, Canada. The boat has recently been purchased by my friend and his wife and they had just completed upgrades etc. The boat also had a Sea Doo Spark on the swim platform. The boat was possibly seen heading east down the St Lawrence River toward Brockville Ontario after 5pm last night.

The boat is a 1996 370 Sundancer with Blue Canvas.

Anyone spotting this boat can either send me a note here in the forum or contact your local police department. Any help would strongly be appreciated.

Similar story here or Facebook about a boat stolen in Ontario and found in Michigan. It had something to do with a local car or boat dealer. Might be worth searching the forums. Sad story, I hope its found in good condition, I think the other boat was.

I spread the word to guys I know in my area. If it passes through here, it will be noticed.

I don't get it. How does someone get away with stealing a boat? It's not like you can hide it somewhere (the jet ski, sure). It's on a river and it will need fuel eventually. Every marina and fuel dock up and down the river should be on alert. I just don't understand how someone can possibly get away with this.

Anyway, good luck. I'm sure it will turn up, I just hope it's found in good condition and they get the scumbags who took it.

Does the wife have an ex-husband by any chance...? o_Oo_O

I hope they find that boat... I thought this kind of stuff didn't happen in Canada!

It is insane to steal a boat of that size. It is one thing in Mexico......but in North America?? Have the owner/insurance company post a $5k reward and someone on the river will turn them in.

maybe hire a plane or helicopter to fly over the river to see if it can be spotted....

If it's a new purchase, there could be an issue with the previous owner and title and perhaps this was taken by a skip-tracer/repo team.

Been to Gananoque many times, doesn't seem like a hotbed for this type of theft.

Told my wife about this the other day and she just told me it was posted that they found it and arrested the thieves. I guess it was in Ontario or something and they were trying to pull it from the water. Didn't hear anything else but would like to hear updates. Not sure how anyone can think they could get away with this??? Glad they got it back. Hope it is in the same shape it was in before the jerks got ahold of it.

Thanks so much Bill and Jeannie for posting this. Thankfully our boat was found in Valleyview Quebec and 2 men have been arrested. Not sure when we'll get her back because she has to be processed by the QPP and then she will have to have a survey. 2 strange men living on her for 4 days..... :(
We are fortunate to know so many who posted on fb and shared everywhere. We are blessed!
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts! Tami and Jorge

Seriously glad to hear this. I also have a boat about your size on Ontario, and can't even imagine somebody attempting such an act. It's too noticeable in a relatively small area, and word gets around this lake VERY quickly. Hopefully there's no damage.

Hi All:

Well as you can see from the note above Tami & Jorge along with all of you and several other forums and newsgroups helped locate their boat and nailed the sorry S.O.B.'s that invaded their lives and took away one of their prized possessions. Many, many thanks to all who contributed and kept a vigilant watch over the rivers and lakes etc. for their boat. It proves the power of people when grouped for a common goal. Thanks to all. A couple pics of the idiots trying to get the boat out of the river near Valleyfield, Quebec. Note the size of the vehicle they tried, unsuccessfully to use and note Johhny Law with two cruisers on shore waiting to arrest their sorry asses.

That is fucking awesome......wonder if the truck and trailer were stolen too?

My money is on YES.

The front wheel of the truck looks like a 1-ton? In theory, it could've pulled a 370 up the ramp... Too bad there's no video.

or they got scared when they saw the police and threw it in reverse...(the truck or the boat) lol

That'll learn 'em!
