The old tv/dvd combo unit that came with our 95 370 when we bought her last year didn't exactly perform well. It was movable in that we could lift it off the mount in the master cabin up front and move to a mount on the port side radar arch for viewing in the cockpit. The flatscreen was scratched and the player had its own issues with an attitude...if you get my drift. We also had that old cathode tv in the salon that has a built in VHS player that was useless.
So I got together with a local guy who does installs and we came up with a 3 flatscreen / 3 Blue Ray set up. We now have this all done and our grandsons can be in the salon and watch their cartoons when they need that downtime. We can put in a Blue Ray upstairs and enjoy a movie or music with after dinner drinks in the cockpit. We also have one in the master cabin to round it out.
The sound is wired into our custom Exile audio system that came with the boat. The install was done with the help of the guy who installed it. We run it off an inverter that is on the AGM battery that runs the audio system.
The nice thing is each unit has it's own Blue Ray, but they're all in a rack downstairs. The remotes can all work on any unit which means one remote will do when it's just the Admiral and I on board.
It looks a bit overboard, but what the heck. The 23" flatscreens were 150 bucks each and the Blue Rays only 50 bucks all bought online through a retailer with great prices in our area. The biggest pain was installation and the 50 foot HDMI it took to get from the stack to the cockpit unit.
