Hi everyone
Have owned a 340 for neally 25yrs love the boat !
Its a very lonely place in the uk too own one! because they are rare boat over here!
never met anyone with one !
The cost off running one is stupid ! With gas engines
here a gallon fuel price which is 4.5 ltrs per gallon a US gallon is 4ltrs = $7.80 per gallon
The story off my boat
I bought the boat with 300hrs on her first converted her to run on lpg gas 166 ltrs lpg per 20 miles !
Cost at time £50 as Gasuline or petrol as we say here cost then £150 for same trip
Then i blew an engine up ! and decided too fit
Two brand new hammerhead 300hp deisels supercharged 2005 yr
Cost running at time was £10 per hour red deisel
The only way i could afford to run her !
Fuel figures
Gas per hour 220ltrs
Lpg per hour 166ltrs
Deisel hour. 25.6 ltrs
A big differance !
Todays cost is £17.60 = 18.5 knts per hour !
$1.30=£1
I removed the twin benchs and table inside and made a leather setee arrangment
Changed the canopy too give more deck space ! Would be nice to speak to people with same boat
Also i find it difficult to get spares for her over here
Need to replace hatchs ? Anybody know best replacements for 340 ec ps what does DA mean on sea ray
Will post some pictures later off changes

Kind regards carl

That sounds like quite the journey Carl. Thanks for posting your story. You would not happen to have any pictures would you?

Share some pictures!

Generally the DA is used to represent the Sundancer model. EC would typically be the Express Cruiser. Check out a website called "flounder pounder" for parts. I'm not sure if they will ship international but worth a shot.

I spent some time in Saint Ives a couple years back and actually spotted a couple Sea Rays. They were certainly the minority but they were quite identifiable. A very different profile from the typical boats around those parts.
