Have a 340 Sundanacer 2000 and want to replace my galley fridge. The current model in the boat is a norcold DE441 and norcold reps and local boat shop say that the replacement for this is a DE0041. Ordered the fridge and there is no way for it to fit get it in the cabin to install.

Has anyone had any experience with replacing their fridge and if so what model # did you replace it with to get it in the boat?

I have the same boat with the same problem. I managed to get the old fridge out by taking the coils off the back. Although I am concerned about the new one fitting through the gangway and fridge compartment. What was your result? How about a isotherm equivalent?

depends how much extra space you need, you may have to remove sliding door stop and handle, and door from new refrigerator and lover it straight from the top of cabin entry opening

I'm not sure if yours is the same but I replaced my fridge with a Nova Kool. It even had a trim kit just for replacing my old Norcold fridge. Fit like a dream and works great.

Which models Nova Cool

We ordered a repair cooling unit from Norcold and a new power supply. We did the work inside the boat. About 5 hours of labor.

I looked up the information for you. The power supply was an additional $275.00

1. replacing the whole refrigerator unit: part # DE0041 -this is not the recommended choice per Chris- this will require much more labor time as we have to go and take the cabin door apart to access the ref. unit. price of the unit $ 875.00 + freight + labor
2. replacing the cooling unit only: part # 617855-this includes the compressor, coil, power supply and plate, etc. This is what Chris recommends for you.. price $492.48 + freight + labor (approx. $500.00)

I'm facing this issue right now as the DE441 just stopped working. 1) Is this normal to just stop w no prior warning (noise, lack of cooling, etc)? 2) Is there a fuse or breaker anywhere other than the main panel in the cabin?

If it's just shot..and I wouldn't be surprised as the boat is 18yrs old and the unit is original...has anyone had more current recommendations as the last one I see is from VinceR?
Thanks in advance.

Thx much! Big help! Ironically, vitrifrigo dealer 10 mins from my home. Replacement fridge and flange kit for $1,100.00. Sound reasonable?

when your old whent out what happend?

just stopped?

Made noises, then stopped what?

Mine worked fine right up to it didn't.I knew it was coming being our boat is a 97.These new units on the market now draw very little amperage ,which was something I was looking for as we spend a considerable time on the hook.
