I am in the market for this boat and would like to hear from owners if there is any particular things to watch out for.
Also how thirsty will the engines be?

Bought this boat mid-season 2004. They made an '88 model (called the 345) and a '89 model (340), which are essentially the same exact boat other than interior layout. The 89 has a second stateroom down to port and galley up, the 88 has galley down and a dinette in the salon. I prefer having the layout of the '89 and we looked at both. The boat is pretty thirsty but I cruise at around 19mph and burn about 28gph. You can go faster if you like (23mph) but expect a burn more in the range of 34-36GPH at that clip. Keep her mains tuned and bottom clean and you'll be OK. The bottom is solid (not cored). Genny is a Quicksilver (if it's the original one) and they are no longer made by Mercruiser. The engine is a Nissan 4 cylinder 987cc and the generator is a Generac. Great engine, very quiet. Parts are costly but available.

No pitfalls to look out for to my knowledge, but engines are very difficult to work on b/c of their close proximity to each other, but that is a typical of SRs with < 13+' beam. At least the genny is easy to get to.

I don't know where you live but there are a couple of diesel models out there (repowered), but you'll pay a premium for them (I believe it's worth it, though).

The boat has been accused of being top heavy and a bit unstable but I've had her out on the ocean in fairly snotty conditions and always felt confident and in control. If you have any specific Qs feel free to PM me.

This is the one I would take a serious look at if you can. It was $99K last summer. Big price drop on a clean diesel powered boat.

I was going to suggest getting in touch with Ron, as it seems he knows every SB that is for sale in the U.S. Too late I see he had the word Sedan Bridge on his search radar! Good luck!

For whatever reason, SR designates us DB, not SB. They just have to be different (sundancers are DA, not SD). Go figure.

My fault, I knew it was wrong but couldn't remember the proper abbreviation thats why I spelled it out the second time.
