Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and to the SeaRay Club. I recently purchased a project 1988 34' Sedan Bridge, which was sold due to a divorce. I I was told the boat was operational until the ex-husband cut all the wiring and fuel lines and trashed the boat. I'm in the process of getting her back in shape and just noticed there the hydraulic lines for the steering cylinder was cut. Worse, the steering cylinder is missing. My question is this..does anyone know what kind of steering cylinder this model is equipped with? From what it looks like, the steering cylinder arm connected to a bar that is connected to both rudder. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Should be one of these. That's what I had in my '89 340DB.
Good luck with the boat. Had mine for 10 years. Any questions feel free to ask. '89 is the same boat other than the interior layout.

Rondds,

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was something like this. The imprint where the base was bolted in is still visible. Does the end of the cylinder connect directly to the rudder bar? Is there just a bolt that connects the two or is there an attachment? Thanks again.

This is the setup in my current boat but it should be the same as yours. The black bar that runs horizontally is the "rudder bar." The ram attaches to a plate welded to the bar. A bit hard to see but to answer your question above...YES.
Please ignore the duct tape on the exhaust hose. I had just blown a hole in that hose and this picture was taken to show the impromptu repair, which was made while drifting in the middle of Barnegat Bay.

This is awesome. Exactly what I was needing. Thanks.

I have an 87 340 sedan. Is there an access under the dinette table for the a/c mine is covered in carpet and dont know how to get to it.
Anyone know?

Totally different boat but on mine, if you lift the dinette seat cushions there were removable plywood panels to get to the unit.

Re: 340 Sedan Bridge

I can access mine by removing the seat cushion. There's a flywood that covers it, but it slides out for access.
