So what ended up being the ticket for a 8.1,v drive? Factory being 3b-18x22...
Yes i'd like to know. I had my props re-pitched from 21 and 21.5 to 22 and 22.5 this winter. My WOT was at 4700, so now I should be around 4500, still within range.
I know this is an old thread, but I figured I'd update for peoples info. I'm now at 22 and 22.5 with a large .125 cup. I'm right at 4600 rpm WOT. I would love to see what 23 Acme's would do.
But still the 3 blades?
No these are 4 blades
So your paining 22/22.5p large cup, 4 blades to 4600 on 8.1s ?
And a 99-02 340 hull?
It's a 2004, 8.1's. Yes full fuel and packed with beer and wine. I cruise at 3450 at 28.5 to 29 mph. WOT is right at 4600. This is on my garmin gps and phone. I'm trying to cruise at 30 to 31mph. If I run the rpm to 3600 I can get to 31, but I dont want to run there.
My Amberjack came with factory 4 blade Hi Torque props both of which are 18x21" 1.5" bore which tops out at 4500 RPM with the 8.1's
Cool. Need to get my hands on a set and try them on mine.
These are my props now. I know they are Nibral , but not sure what kind. I'd really like to see what 23.5 pitch ACME can do. At $1800 each I don't know if I'll be finding out too soon.
