First time out on the new boat yesterday. Spending the weekend at the marine. Checking everything out. I'm wanting to upgrade the stereo. Sony receiver and CD changer in the salon behind the dining table seat. 3 speakers inside and 4 - 5 1/4's in the cockpit. One 10" sub next to the captains seat. I think all are powered by the deck. Haven't found an amp yet. I'm thinking new head unit with IPod/IPhone comparability, amp and I would like to add a another sub. So while looking for somewhere to put a sub, while looking in the storage under the cockpit seat, I notice the captains chair appears to be boxed in. I was wondering if this us true? So if I cut a hole in the side of the structure under the captains chair and in the storage area, if it is truly boxed in? There has to be 1 cubic ft plus air space there. Anyone know? I would cut a hole add a sub and vent out the front.

If your boat has the optional heater/defroster that is the space where the heater core and fan unit are located. If you can figure outhow to get access to that space, let me know. I would like to get in to do a repair and cannot for the life of me figure out how to get access to that space.

Yep. Bryant's what it is. Looks pretty sealed up.

Hummmmm! Bryant's? That's what it is. I do have heat and defrost

Gosh the CRS is getting bad. I can't quite remember, but I replaced the heater core for the cockpit heat in that space the first year I owned the boat, the PO didn't get it winterized well enough and I had water running out from under the seat. It was 12 years ago, but I want to say that the access is from inside the base of the aft facing seat behind the helm. I remember it was a bear to get to.

Well that really blows my sub idea out of the water. It was a great plan A. Now on to plan B.
