Hello all -
I have a 2005 320DA. As many of you know, my exhaust outlets have "flaps" on them. I noticed a few weekends ago that I was not only missing the flap on the port side; but the entire insert was gone.
I talked to my local SR dealer... he wasn't surprised; as he proceeded to inform me that the entire inserts were only held in by 3M double sided adhesive tape. Ahhh - Good grief; I stated.
Anyway - I ordered a replacement set - the stainless steel type that you see on the 07 models. They came in last week... so my question:
Should I use 3M Adhesive to install my new "flaps" - or does anyone have suggestions on something better to use?
You'd think SR would have a better solution than double-adhesive tape for an item that is exposed to heat, water, etc. It's almost like the "flappers" were an after thought....
Thanks to you all!
